Too Early for Xmas

.....what is too early?

Its kinda tradition and perhaps early by some people's
opinion but the Xmas tree and decorations go up in my house
on December 1st. But in department stores the stuff has been
up for weeks and weeks. I think Christmas starts in
September in Departmentstoreland

Xmas is always a sad time for an atheist commie as me...

It's like being the only one without a girlfriend for
Halloween or not having a costume for the immaculate
conception or being anti-american for easter

yes.

imagine you had to go walking to paris... you can only go
walking... and you have three days left to get to paris and
you are still in milano

People have been shopping since forever. I saw a lady on the
news that was half done with christmas shopping a month
ago.

Some people decorate their houses too soon. We must pass
thanksgiving at least before you decorate your house. That
rule should be strictly enforced

i agree. all this christmassy business should start on
december, not earlier. too much of a thing kills the
thing... if it was christmas all the time, there would be no
christmas anymore - and starting it 50 days before
diminishes the "effect" or whatever or it.

the main thing that gets on my tits is when you always see
that thing in the paper, 'look after your neighbours in the
cold weather'.
i live next door to this 84 yr old woman - not once has she
called round to see how i am. lazy cow hasn't even taken her
milk in for 3 days, for christs sake.

hahah, now that was witty.

but anyways, it's worse to still have christmas lights up
come march.

My girlfriend decorates the appartment with all sorts of
asinine decorations. But she is cute, so I let her get away
with it.

yeah, you dutch have it great... you get twice the presents!
:P

my mom always decorates around the first weekend of
december... I think that's nice... to me the whole of
december has always been the Christmas season... but yeah,
november is a bit too early... this year my mom is putting
up our tree on the 27th of november (this weekend) which ok,
is a bit too early... ahh well...

the decorations should go up no more than 12 days before and
taken down no more than 12 days after

That's what I know as the tradition any hoo

12 days, thats it ?

if people want to put up stuff at the beginnning of
december, that is acceptable, and then take them down just
after the new year, they have my vote

yeah yeah definatley, I have no problem with decs in
december. The 12 day thing is just what I know as the
tradition

But I personaly think that if you can see your house from
the moon then you shouldn't be allowed decortaions up AT ALL

"from the moon"

i tend to agree to a point with that

lawn decorations..............TOTALLY SHOULD BE OUTLAWED

but there is this house where my wifes parents live, des
moines, they have so many lightbulbs on their house, you
prol can see it from the moon

so there are exceptions

its just a basic 2 story house, nothing fance, but ligths
everhwere, you gotta like wear sunglasses at nihgt, i wonder
how the neighbors sleep :)
