just so someone doesn't get the idea that i dislike it or
something i should add that there were only like 5 albums in
the last 3 or 4 months that i listened to more than 2 or 3
times..

i was ready to give it a fair chance, but it hasn't got the
tunes that makes me want to listen to it over and over. the
last track reminded me too much of the silly bodenstandig
2000 too. i think she did an honest album, but it didn't do
much for me. i'd rather listen to vespertine or homogenic.

as much as a fan of BJORK as I am, this album really does
NOTHING for me. I think the artwork is the best thing about
it

No, because I don't like the record. I listened to it about
3 times total.

same here
too bad i listened to BOB SINCLARE III like ten times and
enjoyed it
and i am a HUGE FAN of bjork
i like the "concept" or the album but music wise it did
nothing for me after a few listens
there is only ONE song that i truely love i guess track 4
the rest of the album is a great idea but nothing more

really stupid in swedish. medulla knulla ulla bulla pulla.

yeah, so almost everyone thinks the same : |

it's such a shame, Vespertine was so great... well, Medùlla
isn't bad, it's enjoyable but deceiving for a Björk
record...

what's weird is that it got good critics nevertheless...

offline pantalaimon from Winterfell (United Kingdom) on 2004-11-20 06:21 [#01400574]

admittedly not very often now... but really who here thinks
its even meant to be that kind of album? Concept albums
aren't the ones you listen to all time. Maja Ratkje 'voice'
is a similar album and is one of my favourite albums of the
last few years, however I rarely listen to it. Medulla took
me a while to get into (as did Confield) and I like it...
but I wouldn't rate it as her best.

well, there are some albums i only listen to very rarely but
sound great when i do. i'm not sure Medùlla is one of those
ones, though as i said it's not a bad album, it's just
"pretty good".

it made me think of Noriko Tujiko, who is also pretty good
(and has been compared to Björk) without being mindblowing.

offline uzim on 2004-11-20 06:40 [#01400579]
Points: 17716 Status: Lurker

the comparaison with Autechre is good though. Medùlla and
Autechre are both music i very rarely listen to but can be
very good if i'm in the right mind... which happens
very rarely. and otherwise is boring.

"it made me think of Noriko Tujiko, who is also pretty good

I have to disagree with you there, I think Noriko is
probably at the same level as Bjork, comparing the last
albums by both Noriko comes out on top imo.

i've heard that Bjohex was kidnapped immediately after birth
by NASA because her voice was calculated to be so perfect
and superhuman, it can contact extraterrestrial life.

apparently you can't because thee infant Bjohex prefers to
sing in frequencies that human ears cannot percieve!

I listened to it for the first time not long ago, and i
think it's more crappy than previous Bjork albums. Brork
fans among my friends think the same. Yesterday i deleted
the folder with Medulla mp3.

listening to it right now, it's sounding very good.

it really depends on the moment/mood it's being listened to
in, i guess...
