I often find that I want to mention something here on the board, but don't really think it's worth starting a new topic over. So, I'm setting up this topic for my random bits and pieces. To start off, just wanted to say I'm in Manchester right now. Every time I come here it seems to be raining. However, on the plus side, there's a huge inflatable Santa on the town hall roof, or whatever building it is. Reminds me of the marshmallow guy in Ghostbusters. |

The train back to Nottingham from here is usually pretty reliable for me, the major exception being a few weeks ago when it was 25 minutes late. |

So anyway, the train was 8 minutes late arriving in Manchester. I think the station is to blame for that because it was showing as on time but a couple of trains due to arrive on other platforms were diverted to 13 so things got backed up a little. A deaf couple got on at Stockport and sat opposite me. It transpired that they were trying to go to Stoke via Manchester but had got on the wrong train and were therefore headed for Sheffield instead. Took the ticket inspector ages to sort them out and when she had gone they had an argument in sign language. Fantastic. |
