I bought "yellow dog" the other day, and it's a very good
book indeed. It's kind of, uh... well, "loose" would be the
best way that i could describe it, at least in the plotting,
but it's strange how the ideas raised throughout the book
kind of "bounce off" each other and start of new avenues of
thought. I dunno. Anyway, i'll stop wanking around shall i?

Have you people read any of the guy's stuff? And if so,
would you care to recommend any other novels of his / other
authors that i may enjoy?

I'll take that as a recommendation for "london fields",
then.

"London Fields" I'd say: Loved it.
"Dead Babies" I'd say, liked it.
"Time's Arrow" I'd say: Good idea.
"The Moronic Inferno" I'd say: Articles
"Money" I'd say "Fucking, yes"
"Other people" I'd go "Hmmm"
"The Information" I'd say "Now THAT was what I'd call a
novel"
The Rachel Paper's, I'd say: Good first novel.

I really like his books, for me he says "London" in a way
that I can say, "I know what you mean". Specially "Dog shit
park" in, I think, The Information.

!!!!!

Thank you muchly, that's a grand and very concise set of
reviews. I believe london fields will be my next purchase
from the soulless shelves of waterstones. I can almost
hear the piped-in "soft jazz".

I don't know wether it's fashionable, or so unfashionable,
or what to diss The Amis, but I loved "London Fields", I
know it's been a whilse since it appeared, but it's got some
great imagery, that mixes the everyday with the epic, which
is my favourite thing. I'm by no means a literary critic and
I can't claim to have grapsed a franction of it, I just know
it has just a highly evocative atmosphere that mixes high
and low culture like some carless literary juggler. I really
liked The Information and Money for the similar "feel".

Careless, not carless. How carless of me.

Yes! That's a nice way of putting it. It certainly applies
to "yellow dog". Kind of like a strange blend of subtle
philosophical musings mixed with a generous helping of
squalid semi-filth. Rather excellent whatever way you look
at it.
