anyone seen this yet?

im going to see it tonight, although im less excited than i
was before i read some reviews. apperantly it is too
sweet/cheesy, not giving enough space to the spectator..i
hope i don't find it that way.

from what i read it doesn't come close to Fridriksson's
other film 'Children of Nature' with quite a number of
people consider to be one of the best films ever..im really
trying to get a hold of this one.

also, i read some negative comments on music for the film,
but personally i love the soundtrack, i just hope it goes
good along the movie..anyway, i'll get to see that soon
enough :)

Once you have seen it please give us a full review. It
sounds interesting!

7 nights in a row, you lucky thing, I rarely get a chance to
go to the cinema and if you don't mind I would like to live
vicariously through you.

i really don't want to see it. it probably deserved the
golden sheep award (razzberry's of iceland)

also, the film he did before niceland was 'fálkar'
(=falcons) which really sucked, except for the scenes
earlier in the film with actor Ingvar Sigurðsson (the
perverted police man).

he has done some pretty good films like Angels In The
Universe (Sigur Rós have two gorgeous tracks in that film)
and the Devil Island.

but their not a particular favourites of mine.

and OHh just forgot. He did the legendary documentary film
'Rokk In Reykjavík' from the early 80's, about the
icelandic punk scene. definetly see that!

well, i loved it! it was sweet, yeah, but that is because it
was filmed in a way of a fairy-tell. it's a story about two
handicapped people; boyfriend, girlfriend. they want to
start a life together, but right after the boy proposes her,
her cat dies in an accident and she falls into a big
depression. since she lost her purpose of life with this
cat, the boy promisses her to find her the answer to "what
the purpose of life is" so she would get happy again...he's
asking people, his parents..but no one knows. then one day
he sees this man living alone on a junkjard and he says he
knows what purpose of life is. so the boy decides to visit
him and stay with him until he finds out...they become
friends, but it appears that the man didn't know the real
answer, at the end the boy realizses that he knew what it
was the whole time.

photography and camera are absolutely wonderful..it has
reminded me a lot of kaurismeki's films..
also, the music goes absolutely brilliant with the scenes!

there was a scene where everyone in the cinema was on a
verge of tears :) lovely..
