1 - ok, search feature doesnt work cos it was suspicious
that it could be a problem for the board... but is this
confirmed? will we have search feature back soon? (soon =
some days)

2 - the balack threads, those where oyu can discuss a
release of the discography. its been like half a year since
no new discussion thread can be started, why is this? I
have asked some other time, but I dont remember an answer

see that since we cannot start new discussion thrreads we
rarely see one in the top page... I miss discussing some
releases, like lfo frequencies for example

the biggest loss is the search function.

also, it would be nice to have a search function for the
discography

I really would love to know if we will have these features
soon... at least the search function, cos I really feel
blind without it

but this is not a complaint, its just wanting to now, so
that I know how the things go with this place that I
consider like a home

no, the biggest loss is some content. the faq, the other
stuff. actually it was so long ago i can hardly remmber what
was on here. would it have hurt to leave it up?

reviews
interviews

custom artowrks we have it now in the gallery
discography is incomplete, but the aphex part is more than
complete, more at least than the one at .nu
so not really much content is missing compared to the .nu
era... but yes compared to what had been announced

V5 issues and information
I guess you're all curious about the V5 progress and all:

The new MB with the integrated member system is now ready
and it's amazing to use (we prefer
minimalistic/custom-made/speed issues instead of
slow/3rdparty packages). We need to BETA-test it a lot tho -
some of YOU will be invited to try it out before the actual
release. Please, don't ask us to pick YOU, we have already
choosen a few, trusted regulars on the board and they will
receive instructions within a few days.

NEW CREW-MEMBERS
Yes, we have recruited some people who'll help us out in V5.
The new discography-section will grow a lot and become an
essential part of the site. It'll be integrated with the
MEMBER-database in various ways and this will bring up some
new cool features (not mentioned here). Christopher Miller
(well-known rdj discography guru) has joined us and will
contribute and manage the new discography. Who could
possibly be better for this task?

Andreas Schepers (well-known ex-aphextwin webmaster ->
andreas.de/aphextwin) is a new moderator on the MB and will
contribute with news/interviews/reviews in V5. Cool as
hell.

DJ Fony is also a new moderator and will have similiar tasks
as Andreas. A great new crew-member!

Phobiazero (that's me), Tune and Gonzola (aka Pinkcalx) are
still here to serve you with your AFX-needs. V5 would not
have been possible without Tune (praise him).

Oh yes, we need some Australian/Asian moderators as well.
Send me a message if you're interested.

We won't tell you much more about V5 improvements for now
(we don't want concurrent sites to steal ideas before we
actually launch them ourselves). Stay tuned for more info.

actual electronic music resource, such as the many

I just realised. WATMM actually had a load of content up a
while ago. Interviews transcribed and videos and stuff.
Where the hell has all that gone? I won't bemoan XLT losing
the search funciton now.

watmm had to re-start due to a general crash this january

all content was lost, I think, or at least it has to be
re-structured.
even all messageboard posts were lost first in january and
then in june

so the earliest you can search is june 2004

another thing that I am noticing is that this MB is not so
mindblowing fast as it used to be... I am not talking about
how fast it loads... I am talking about the amount of
posts... half a year back this place was still much more
heavy traffic than anyother ... threads growed and apppeared
every second... 50 threads in the top page only let you see
half of a day... now people seem to have calmed down... its
not bad or something, but its fact.

also not so many people log in lately as before... I see
most of the times we are between 30 and 40, we had times
when the average was around 50-60

is this only me noticing?

aphextwin.nu was better than xltronic.com, in my opinion
too.

aphextwin.nu had:
• a complete site
• with a nice-looking, user-friendly aphex twin
discography
• up to 50kb (or something like that) avatars
• a cool CG header picture
...

The search function, man... I really miss that thing. I want
to find one of my old posts to dig up a song I can't
remember the name of, but I can't find it and it keeps me up
at night.

And the eyes continue to haunt me every time I refresh. I
never get used to them.

Really cool using that Waybackmachine or whatever it's
called. Felt like late 2001 again. How does that thing work?
Some machines have all that shit stored on it or something?
Must be an enormous amount of information.

*controversy*

I don't really mind The Eyes Of Doom. I never even notice
them now. Despite all the recent uproar, i still like this
strange old place. It's like an old jumper that's going a
bit threadbare, but it hasn't got the ingrained armpit-smell
of death quite yet.

well i've just donated my $10 for the year. Have faith

Maybe if there was more to get involved with, people would
be more positive.

- Another XLT vibes (no theme, just straight up electronica
like it used to be)
- Encourage people to post their music and talk about it.
At the moment, when someone posts a track, they have to play
it down for fear of being called a Spammer. Remember
PROMO?

Im glad to see a couple of album review threads have popped
up, this is a good feature that should be used more.

I just have questions that I wanted to know about... this

My 2 cents. For me the board index loads slowly. This is due
to a huge drop-down list on the messageboard index (1677
lines, the browser has to parse each one and display, takes
time), any possibility of getting this cut down?
