Great groove and energy, mix is out of control and
everything is fighting everything else instead of sharing.
It's nice to share. Swap some parts in and out more. Make
some room in the mix for the arpeggiated synth. And that
crash cymbal comes way too often. I'd like to hear this with
a cleaned up mix and arrangement.

i mixed my ass of on this. but it's just too much low why i
guess, and there was little place, i figured, to begin with,
with all them drum sounds, that's why i went to those lows.
you are right about the crash too

i will reduce the crash use anyway
what do you do with reverb plugins btw, because of the cpu
killing? use them on groups of tracks?

Not that it matters but the first drum almost sounded in a
different tempo than the melody or something, but it later
sounded good when the rest of the cacaphony came in, since
they made the perception of time measurement easier and made
the nonlinear positioning o fthea o jfo difirst drum in the
snuggle fabric softener. This sounded good when everything
came in including the second melody, noisy but good. The
cymbol crashes added to it, but were quite a standart type
of sound.. maybe if the length of the cymbol was cut to be
exactly the length of 1/4 unit of a "measure" or whatever
the snof I'm talking about.

Yeah, you put the reverb on a send channel and the channels
you want reverbed get sent to the send. Make sure the reverb
plugin is on a setting that's 100% wet signal and no dry
signal, or else it makes louder whatever you send to it
instead of just reverberating it.

is that what send channels do? I've never bothered to use
them.. should I?

As fleet touched on, reverb etc is best used placing things.
Imagine a place where the rhythm is and put it there. Do
the same for everything and it'll sound 100% better.
Also.... try recording the effects of each trak
independantly and treat them seperately, an old school trick
is to have the dry signal in one speaker and the wet in the
other, creates lots of space without all that silly phasing
crap.

doubled.

At first I thought "Oh no, this sounds a bit wwieeeuuurrllp"
and then, towards the half way bit, it got really good, and
then it got very good. So I was happy, for more than half of
the time, which is more than I can say for most things.

It's decent enough, man. Kind of like being smashed in the
face with some kind of enormous fruityloops hammer, but in
quite a good way. Not my favourite of yours biggiepants, but
i still like it.

It sounds good. :-)
At the beggin I was thinking that it was a love song but is
a happy tune.

i think this track is more original that my others
it's meant to be kinda techno-ambient, like autechre
there's no floop sounds in it (unlike woop for instance) but
alot of native instruments. and bass-station, with the
floops arpeggiator, granted
(like being smashed in the face with some kind of
enormous fruityloops hammer
: that is my style
:D)
dog could you specify wwieeeuuurrllp somewhat more?
w M w thanks for the comment aswell btw, it made my little
biggie head hurt a bit this morning but it was wort it
*kissies*

I think this track could be vastly improved if you took out
that rattling/mental/jingle sound, because it really did
ruin it for me. Do that for me and I shall like it :D

no, just learn to love it, i cant make these changes, i
tried to remove the crash for instance, because then the
whole structure will come down like a towering inferno

:')
one of those drumsounds was inspired by one of your tracks,
well, that is to say, it was in the native instruments
battery package, but if you wouldnt have had that sound that
one time i maybe wouldnt have used it

big I think the remixes by plaster you put up are
fucked...they are both just overly loud distortion.

it's what they call 'noise'
it's ironic my mixing focused on getting rid of all the
distortion :)

Listening to pistolwhip...

Whoa... drums hit you hard after the intro. No transition no
nothin. For some reason it feels like the tempo should be
increased. Either that or the drum line needs to be shaped a
little more, it's just hard and heavy... really DnB style.

Yeah, the drums are so far out in front of the mix (up to
the break at 1:40) I just can't hear much of what else is
going on. Which is unfortunate cause the background pad
sounded like it was changing a lot, I just can't keep
focused on it without the drums drowning it out. I know
there's stuff coming in and out because it changes texture.

Yeah...

Those drums need some major work. The loop is good but it
doesn't flow very well. It's not circular. Does that make
sense? The energy of the drum loop is constant, doesn't go
up and down like a sine wave.

Like suggested above, some careful reverb would help a lot.
As would some reduction in the volume of certain drum notes

Cheers!

yeah i had that feeling that the tempo maybe had to increase
too at times .
i do turn out some of the drum sounds in the very beginning
to make some kind of transition. but it's all about the
drums then, that's why the transition is so rude. i tried
all kinds of subtleties while writing then, the monotone
bass (with some lfo over it) being one of them.
it's that same bass that's then arpaggiated then, and i
liked the sound of that so much that i really focussed on
that from then on. all meldodies seemed trivial on the whole
thing and because the arpeggio melody is a bass i figured
i'd go under it. also cause i like the idea of hardly
audible melodies these days, so that's what i did.
the drums prolly dont sound circular because of that highest
clack sound (there's four), it depends on what you focus on
while listening
it was just another concept
cheers :)
