My ipod has loads of scratches on it after owning it for a
month. I try to take good care of it but lo and behold,
scratches.

Just curious what the state of your ipod is if you own one.
And how long have you had it for?

Thanks. I don't feel so bad now.

Hows your battery life after having it for a year?

I've got a nice hardshell case so after a year of having it,
it looks close to new. Only a few scratches of the back.

the back of my iPod has some scratches on it, but nothing
serious

when I had it for a week I put it in my jeanspocket and
bicycled to a mate, when I got there I sadly discovered a
small spot full of scratches on the display due to friction

someone recommended me to buy the polish stuff you also use
for the display of a mobile phone...and the scratch
disappeared completely!

it is 1 year old now and it still runs for about 7 hours

iPods rawk.
i have a 2G 10GB that i got this february, because my first
one started acting up (i thought, but it was only a faulty
firewire cable. i still got a new one from apple).

mine got scratches within a month, but what can one expect
when it's in use everyday. now it has even more scratches,
but i keep it clean and nice to make up for it. the battery
is getting worse though, but when it's time i'm going to get
this. in best case scenarios it will rock tunes
for 20 hrs apparently.

20.

I really want a 60GB. It would be great to be able to backup
all my graphic projects at work onto an iPod I could take
home. (My work always finds its way home)

I'll have to put that in as a request with the IT guy. (will
never happen in a million years)

i have a 4gen 40gb ipod and the battery doesn't last for 12
hours, that's for sure. more like 6 (even with everything
turned off and it has always been like that), and i bought
it in the beginning august.

something a non-owner don't understand; since an ipod uses
itunes to transfer files, how do you get non-music files
onto it?

I don't know why anyone gets bothered by scratches / cracks
/ unidentified stains on their stuff. As long as it still
works, it's fine by me.

on the mac (havent tried windows) it mounts up as a
harddisk, and thus enables you to put what the hell you want
on it.
it's a shame that you can't directly access the mp3/aac
files, but theres numerous apps that can retrieve them back
on your computer.

Same on windows.

I have a 3G 20gb thats about 14 months old. Its still
fantastic, apart from the accessories which all go to shit
after a couple of months. But you should use different
earphones anyway.

it depends, how often do you wish you had music around? Do
you go jogging and are sick of having your CD player skip
all the time? Do you have a few gigs of music you'd like to
have around for vacations and trips, etc?

Its not a matter of convincing, you'd know better than us if
you need it.

I had the same Mobile Telephone for 4 years. The amount of
scratches, paint flecks and (in the later stages of decay)
gaffa tape on it was like the history of my life. And then i
left it in the ice cream freezer-thing of a shell garage
whilst purchasing a large number of cornettos. I was so sad.
