Yes, in this period I don't see importan albums to buy.
Last year in October I bought very good music as I Love Acid
by L.Vibert, Sheath by LFO, Spokes by Plaid, Empty the bones
of you by Chris Clark, etc...

I'm checking inside various label's catalogues but I don't
find anything of interesting.

\/\/.

Yeah - I think that the whole thing is pretty much dead.
VSnares is about the only innovative, enjoyable electronic
music out nowadays. Everything else either sounds like: (1)
a piss-poor copy of older material or (2) a music student
showing off all the theory he learned.

IDM fucks and sucks all the way home.

expand your musical horizons, there's not just idm in
music...! : )

and even if there isn't anything new, there must be
some older albums you don't know yet.

you should give kattoo a listen...there are some
tracks alike vsnares there, although those samples doesn't
show that :)

tolstoyed also recommended me 'Forest Of The Echo Downs' by
Secret Frequency Crew, which sounds interesting (and not too
far from those autechry warp stuff if you want something of
the likes...) you can listen on bleep.com.

there's a shitload of awesome music all over little labels.
i'm finding new things i'm interested in all the time. i
recently found out about the 12k and line record labels - a
bit like raster-noton. 12k focusing on melodic minimalistic
music, and the line division is more about 'hardcore'(?)
minamilism - more abstract i suppose. also deathprod i
discovered last week. the new four cd set of his collected
works i've spent many hours this week enjoying. and new
nurse with wound soon. everything is good in the word of
music.

+of course warp is uninteresting.

some good albums i discovered in the latest months:

Ghost - Hypnotic Underworld
Quannum - Spectrum
Piano Magic - The Troubled Sleep Of Piano Magic
Jeff Buckley - Live at Sin-é
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Tomas Korber, Erik M, Toshimaru Nakamura, Otomo Yoshihide -
Brackwater
Elysian Fields - Queen Of The Meadow
Boredoms - Vision Creation Newsun
Noir Désir - Des Visages Des Figures
Underworld - Second Toughest In The Infants
...

new NWW soon? good news! : )

which one is it? i've heard of one called "Shipwreck Radio
volume 1" but i have no idea what it is about... (also of
"Ear Eclipse" with Current 93, about ear infections after
Steven has been very badly stung in the inner ear which
almost caused him to die o_O)

i dont agree, you just have to broaden your horizons. you
mentioned all warp artists, but there are other great
artists, give them a try. i am in a big 'electronic only'
phase right now, so i am more open to these artists, but
there are other types of music besides xltronic :)
whenever i find myself in a lull, i just put on some older
stuff and rediscover it.

If you're really desparate for new music, quit bitchin, buy
some gear, and learn to make some yourself.:) I bet it's
more rewarding and fufilling than searching for artists that
cater to your tastes.

i disagree too. i've been discovering LOTS of new music
these days. more minimalism/improv stuff

like autopoieses and everything else involving ekkehard
ehlers
william basinski
aki onda
stephan mathieu
...

too many good releases, too little cash

to a certain extent i agree with woofer. I think its because
there really a universal album we all have been looking
forward too. New BOC was close, but then that got delayed.
We would have all been talking forever on that one. Perhaps
Analord's staggering 2 tracks will give us something to talk
about.

But yeah there are alot of artists out there that are good.

also one (hafler) thing with Jonsi Birgisson, isn't he sigur
ros man?
hm - the one with blixa was very good indeed but the bestest
is the one with david tibet (of current 93), well his voice
anyway. it captures the um.. 'evilness' of current 93 so
well... dripping with BLLLACK, or something. recommeded
A++++

yeah I agree Warp, Rephlex and Skam mostly release shitty
music atm

but try to check out other labels aswell, I think you will
be amazed if you dig a little deeper into the world of
electronic music, it is just a matter of patience to find
the stuff you like
