why analord is vinyl only..

so that none of the analog richness is lost in digital
conversion. a digital waveform can only sample an analog one
and is therefore not as rich in quality.

why would an analord release something digital?

just thought id mention this cos i noticed the poll results
about it.

so it seems important and cool and richard gets a lot of
money and then he gets many bullets and then he kills us
all..... except me (becauase i only own 1 of his CDs)

then we will have a nice chat about lucid dreaming over a
nice stout.

cos drukqs isnt all analogue and certainly isnt marketed as
being so.

how accuraet/reliable are theses analord 10 rips on slsk
anyway and does anyone know why track 2 is an edit?

k,i'll withdraw my last statement...

i'll explain this in a circle of dance music (4/4 dance
music)
so,when a producer releases a vinyl instead of a cd that
means that the specific track is for club purpose...so,only
dj's will buy it,but when you see a cd out it's intended for
the wider audience.
i think that this goes down the drain when it comes to
idm,cos a lot of you are buying wax.
and then, sometimes you have exclusive tracks that are only
featured on wax and not on cd's.

but it's true...it's just a marketing thing...why do an
album when you can do an EP.

i suppose your right in a way though. i rember an afx
interview in which he made it sound as if he pretty much had
to do as he was told with releasing his music.

I liked the way you employed in your first post the words
"analog richness" and "rich in quality" when we're talking
about the greatest Rich in the history of the world, Richie
D James (I am ignoring, for the purposes of this thread,
Richard Attenbrough, Richard the Lion Heart, Richard II,
Richard III, Richard O'Sullivan, Richard Whitely, Richard
Branson, Richard Burton and Little Richard)

i bet after it's sold enough copies on vinyl, the digital
mp3s will be up in bleep so you can buy the same product
twice.

These are the few reasons I think its vinyl only:
1. To keep it off the charts, and out of virgin record
stores
2. Helps a "little" more to stop P2P sharing
3. Most of the recent Rephlex releases have been vinyl only
anyway. They've chosen this route because they are trying to
say something about home taping
4. doing both CD and 12" can be expensive. So sometimes only
one can be chosen. Why not chose the best (vinyl) :D
5. Its a fun idea
6. Its bloody cool
7. Audiophile Vinyl hits the peak in best sound
8. The music deserves it
9. it will be an exclusive for avid enthusiast

i feel lucky and privileged he's even sharing this new stuff
with us

2 reasons

1 - as i mentioned, you can sell the product twice (you just
watch)

2 - CDs are the spawn of satan

I hate it when people call vinyl "wax".

even worse is "slab of wax".

I wanna transfer my Vinyl to digital...
Any suggestions on turntables?
I'm thinking about the Denon b/c it has digital out...

The thing I'm mostly concerned about is the stylus/needle
quality.
Audiophiles what do you recommend, under $200 for these?

I could always get one of those $10,000 laser tables ...
Not.

Well..... I think that sometimes it is really nice to have
stuff that only comes out on vinyl.... It's a little more
Special.... I can finally say that now that i have a
turntable... hé hé... I used to be quite annoyed when a
release was only made on vinyl at the time.... Now.... I
kind of like it.... I don't mind anymore...... I agree that
it is a little selfish to think that way... But hey.... I
waited long enough to have the oportunity ;) I heard
about Analord...... Looking forward too it....

i agree with you, the sound quality on vinyl is 100 times
better, but listen to most of my music in the car.....
