I feel very limited in Reason. Not soundvise (where Reason
obviously is superior).
I want to be able to make unlimited drum-tracks, with
unlimited variations, for unlimited time. Show me how to do
that in Reason.

I hate both.

what do you mean by unlimited drum tracks?

i mean when making drums in the piano-roll or the
step-sequencer, I feel that I can make unlimited programmed
variations of the drum-track, instead of just making the
variations by slicing the beats.

If the function exists in Reason, I must have missed it, but
the fact that I missed could underline the fact that Reason
(as a program) focuses on a special group of musicians, that
I'm not a part of.

It's not about what program that is the best, it's about
what program you use

lol,i think that you missed the whole point of reason my
friend...it has the function of programming your beat and
making it as versatile as you want.
that option is called REDRUM and it's a rhyrhm machine with
an editor in the main arrangement view, along side with the
steps on it.

the slicking thingy is called dr.rex and it's a totaly
different thing.

yes the little buttons on the front of the redrum are a
waste of fucking space. and Dr.Rex is only really any good
if you have Recycle as well. otherwise its a bit limited as
to what you can use with it...

as for sound quality, unless you're actually a signed artist
or whatever, who gives a fuck about the mix? if you're that
good someone else will do it for you. mixing and mastering
tracks is a boring fiddy tedious waste of time, unless
you're being a)paid to do it or b)making a serious
release...

yes...i got pissed today after bouncing all the tracks to
nuendo for processing, cos reason is so well done for make up
of a sound.
once you got a project up and ready in nuendo it's totally
different and it doeasn't have the sound like it had while
back in reason.
i think that dr.rex is a powerfull tool, but when you combine
redrum and it some crazy things pop up.

I stil think it's limited and without proper overview

You can do it the way he describes, but it's a hell of a lot
more fiddly than Floops. I want seperate sequencer tracks
for each drum machine channel (so 10 per redrum) and I've
not found a (simple) way of doing this yet.

I normally make my drums in floops more interesting by
seperating out hats, snares, kicks etc. and then doing
several variations on each one. These variations can then be
combined, e.g. Kick drum variation 1, with snare part 4,
with hi hats 2 and tom tom 6.

After a rebuild I went back to floops 3.3.

I never remembered there being much of a leap from 3.3 ->
4.5, but going back you notice so many things missing.
