recycle from lincoln,ne on 2002-01-31 13:37 [#00076853]

the whole come to daddy ep is sweet

Archrival on 2002-02-01 09:19 [#00077349]

I agree, I even like the Come To Daddy original version now,
IT ROCKS!!!
I like the Contour Regard mix better than the original too.

Iz-us and flim is still sweet.

Listen to the EP again N GIT
NOSTALGIC!!!!!!!

doki from grmny on 2002-02-01 13:58 [#00077427]

yeah, contour regard weakling child is amazing!! especially
love the part where the voice becomes the beat - kind of ...
:)

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-02-01 16:25 [#00077467]

One of Aphex's best releases. Defines his music, IMO.

Mummy Mix is my least favorite track on the album...however
I have actually started listening to Come To Daddy
(original), which I used to hate, so maybe one day I'll like
mummy.

I don't become crazy for these versions, they're nice but
not my favs.
I prefer the old dear original version of Come To Daddy
especially at 2'20" minute where start a lovely distorted
sound.

Arhcrival on 2002-02-01 16:34 [#00077470]

Yeah 2'20 thats one of the best parts on the album. I hated
Come to Daddy pappy mix for years but now i kinda like it.

grinningcat from crawley on 2002-02-01 19:26 [#00077628]

yeah was listening to it last nite..... seems a bit like him
showing of wat he can do techinally rather putting heart
into it.

yeah the whole EP is good.

shows his technical side, his serious side, his emotional
side, his sick humor side (i wud like to fuk u up the
bunghole!), and that he makes good trax

Arhcrival on 2002-02-01 22:32 [#00077719]

It kinda like Drukqs, it got many of his styles, almost all
of em theres a few missin like the ambients stuff etc.

That bouncin balls track is just amazing!

Jayphex from Ottawa, Can on 2002-02-01 23:08 [#00077725]

Are you guy's crazy? Mummy mix is my favorite track on that
ep! I remember doing school projects and having that song
playing throughout. I made it my personal mission to make
the whole class hear it.

I love the Mummy Mix... cool sounds and stuff...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-02-02 02:45 [#00077771]

you ever notice the cool effects on the applause at the end?
Like the way it kinda skips sorta? It's not that obvious I
don't think, but it's pretty cool...

m on 2002-02-02 03:41 [#00077795]

for me mummy mix took the most listening to comprehend. It
was the most challenging on that album. funny little man was
initially striking but it wore off slightly because it was
more structured instead of all mixed up and complex. That
whole album is just absolutely perfect.

conacure from Alaska on 2002-02-02 03:42 [#00077799]

that song was funny (c'mon give us a snare rush rush rush
rush rush rush rush hsur
PPFFFKKSKKSSSSRNGNNNGRKKKKTKTTTTTTT) hehe

m on 2002-02-02 03:45 [#00077803]

I think that sound was "rush" played backwards.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-02-02 03:45 [#00077802]

I was listening to Come to Daddy (Pappy Mix) earlier
tonight, and the way he changes the voice constantly is
pretty amazing... very effective... I love the album... and
one thing I like is that it's shorter, and rather then
having to decide on what songs you want to listen to you can
listen to the whole thing... if you're short on time that
is...

m on 2002-02-02 03:46 [#00077806]

yeah, it's short length contributes to it's perfectness.
Another short album I have is www.mp3.com/hanniz. it's
simpler but quite striking in it's organization. It's like
15 minutes, but I still bought it and love it.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-02-02 03:48 [#00077809]

yeah, The RDJ album is the same way... well, excluding the
girl/boy ep which is tacked on... but the real album is only
like a half hour or so, and it's just very convienient I
guess...

m on 2002-02-02 03:50 [#00077811]

when paying such close attention to such small units of
time, you get the same mental workout as an 80 minute album
anyway.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-02-02 03:58 [#00077815]

yeah, and on both albums the songs are jam packed... there's
so much going on... like Corn Mouth for instance, it's only
like 2 minutes long or something, but it's packed with
stuff... and it's freaking cool!!! :)

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-02-02 04:00 [#00077816]

and yeah, most of the time I don't sit down and listen to a
60 or 70 minute album straight through, cause really, I
don't have the time with school and all... but a half hour
album is pretty good, and I do listen straight through to
Come to Daddy, and The RDJ album and stuff... so it's
cool...

m on 2002-02-02 04:17 [#00077826]

I think about a half an hour is a good length, but it just
so happens that cd's are capable of holding 80 min. If I
made a cd, I'd divide it into "mini albums" intended for
listening all the way through. Like part 1: the first 20
minutes... part 2: the second 20 minutes etc. and a gap of 8
seconds of silence between each mini album.

Arhcrival on 2002-02-02 11:48 [#00077874]

Thats a good idea "M" I like it!
