I finally got a Fruity Loops that works, the 17 MB file. Forget my English essay, time to make love to Fruity Loops!
I guess I'm gonna go figure stuff out, learn how to compose and piece together stuff... I already made a kick ass drill and bass track with a cool pitch shifting riff I made up. Watch out, here comes Ophecks!
I'll be lucky to figure ANYTHING out... it's a little overwhelming.
Anyway, I see what you guys like about it, I've got so many ideas and melodies in my head, now I can put them to good use, even if it IS just a CPU program.
So, question... how big is your Fruity Loops file? I saw that most of them were 9 MB on Soulseek, I only found two versions that were 17MB like this one.

I love Fruity Loops... it's the best thing to ever happen to me... :)
No but seriously I can't get over how much I love making music... I was working on a song this afternoon, and the time just drifted by, and I was in my own little world, happy as anything, composing a little tune... I love it!!!! :)

ANSWER MY QUESTION!!! :-p
I know what you mean... I have an INFINITE amount of ideas in my head, so many nice melodies... and I want to ''remix'' Daytripper into a trance type thing... I've got this cool arpeggio melody in my head, and a nice beat to lay it over... I can't wait!
First things first, gotta finish my essay.

i dont remember how big my fruityloops full version was.. i think about 15 MBs..
i also got full versions of Cubase and Sonar, all off morpheus
if u think fruityloops is intimidating try either of those 2 programs! the manual for cubase is almost 500 pages... i haven't even tried to make anything w/ it yet
dont worry u'll get the hang of fruityloops fast, and you'll be makeing fruity loops in no time! (HAAAAAHAHAH.. get it?!? Fruity... Loops? ahha... ok)
but i know what u mean about making music.. once i get started, i can go for hours non stop, and its all i want to do
its just so hard to realise the ideas i have for music accurately

I made some nice seedy sounding loop, all kinds of melodic layers, but being a computer dumbass, arranging everything and combining it with other loops is a pain!

the demo version is 9megs and the full is around 20megs. demo lacks save options and 10megs of loops.

This one can save, so it's full.
It's 3 32 and I'm still fucking around with it... my song is coming together nicely. ;-) In the spirit of pretentious and enigmatic IDM artist's, I'll call it, ''Yakhoolith Brok 5y.''

Along with d-tox's point about sample bank size (which might be minimalized with different cracks), you also might find some cracks that have cut down in fruityplugs and such.
ANyone have a v3.4 crack? That project bones and FM-10 plug look pretty tasty....

I use fruity loops too. I reckon it's cool, but whenever I try to transpose music in my head to it it sounds a bit off and then I play around with it so it sounds even less like the music in my head and then I go off on a tangent and it ends up completely different.
The only time I've accuratley recreated amelody out of my head was using Re-birth. It was so catchy that my mate was humming it when we went out to get a pizza. Unfortuantley, his dad turned off the computer while we were out and I hadn't saved it! :(

I'm pretty sucky with melodies right now... it's all guess and check pretty much... play the pattern, and put down some notes and see how it fits... I can make those mad beats though!!!! :)

I have three songs... the first two are repetitive Analogue Bubblebath type thump-thump stuff... simple, but fun!
The third one STARTED well... I had an pretty cool string arrangment playing in harmony with this groovy bassline... I was excited, it was quite a step up from the other two. But I got too ambitious, tried too many little sections and riffs, and got confused! The rest of the track is garbage mixed with some cool ideas and themes, but they're arranged all haphazardly... fucked up timing, too, damn.
How do you make the Step Sequencer longer? Like, the loops... I can only put in 16 notes per loop, but I'm sure you can do more...

Well, should any of you feel the need for hardware, I suggest the Clavia Nord Micro Modular or even the big Modular if you can afford it. Ambient/IDM people should love it. Autechre use/used the Nordlead, which is another keyboard from Clavia.
The modular series is awesome. You basically build synths on-screen. It's great for self-running pieces and experiments. www.clavia.se
