I wrote this too:

Well, at first I found you to be condescending and arrogant,
and everything you said disparaging and bitter. I couldn't
see why the other people that I got on with here thought so
highly of you, but it was obvious when I actually made the
effort to speak to you properly, and realised that I was
wrong, that you were a genuinely amiable and knowledgeable
chap with a slightly scary expertise in all things techno
and televisual of the last few decades, to name just two. As
qrter said, you make me laugh a lot and have a subtle wit
that hides beneath almost all of your comments.

You are like a dime bar that has been made wrong: hard on
the outside, soft on the inside, and you have a big lump
coming out of one side so you can't even fit in the packet
properly. Maybe this isn't the mirror you wanted, but I'm
honestly glad that we ended up on good terms, guy.

Yes, I was just saying that dobbin is smart and funny and
sarcastic and maybe a little disappointed by life but if he
applied himself he could be one of the greatest and
wealthiest Argentinian butterfly ranchers in history and die
centuries from now surrounded by loving wives and great
great grandchildren.

i don't really know you at all earthleakage. but, as sam
said, quite a few of the members that i do consider friends
seem quite font of you.

you don't seem to loiter in the nonsensical threads where i
usually hang my hat, so we don't have much a rapport. you
also make a lot of jokes about england that i don't
understand at all. but, when i am able to follow your
humor, i find it quite... uh... humorous.

:)
