Thoughts?

My immediate thought is "poor battery life". Am I right, am
I wrong?

My god, what have I done!

Actually, when I first saw it, I thought it would be a good
idea if you could connect your digital camera directly to
it.

my immediate thought is "what's the point"

5-6 hours if it is on a continual slideshow for that time.
15 hours normal use.

Features include:
album art while song plays
40gig or 60gig(sheeit) models
select specific pics for slideshow and select background
music

There is an optional adapter that lets you transfer storage
cards/sticks to your ipod. That means that if you're a
digital photographer, you will never run out of room for
photos.

audio support still sub-standard =(

You mean not enough audio formats supported?

That and no line in (with support for real time encoding).
I think that's a pretty basic requirement! They're really
behind the times.

and Photos? come on, people are too egotistical already.

I take shitloads of photos. Doesn't help that I'm working on
a portfolio either. Many many.

Belated opinion:
I wont buy it. Too expensive. But cool nonetheless.

I just find it a weird thing to pick out of so many possible
things to tag on. with not much more space and work, it
could be a mini pc.. so why not? Already pricey.

I'm waiting for shit that size (and weight) to have a 1ghz
processor

It would indeed be better if it could be connected directly
to a digital camera or even if it had one built in, but to
only be able to browse old pictures that have to be added
from a computer, that's a bit rubbish I think.

a built-in camera wouldn't be that great - most mobile
phones have camera's in them these days, which get used
about 0.000001% of the time.

it's just thinking up useless new things to try and re-sell
the iPod, which is ofcourse completely unnecessary as it's
selling like Pink Sugared Shitcakes Covered In Saucy
Porn-Juice anyway.

not good--screen easily damaged if hidden. would be better
if it had some sort of solid inside on front.

The silly thing is....

The promotion for iPod says you can hold 20,000 songs and
take them wherever. If you used the iTunes store to
purchase your music legally it'd cost near enough $20,000?
They are smooth though.

your request?

what is your ideal portable device, you haven't given
specifics of everything YOU want, only critizied other
devices.

god damnit elusive don't you notice that your comments are
inane? Firstly, you are not some deity to have access to
tablet pieces--last time I was at the airport I saw some fat
half crippled woman using one to write an email. I've used
shitloads.

second, my followup mentions rolling displays and then I
insult myself, so obviously I'm dicking around. Can you
read? Are you mentally retarded? Why don't you realize
these things?

Obviously I'd like all sorts of obvious stuff we haven't
mentioned which is currently impossible--foldable,
extendable screen, all sorts of input capabilities, low
heat, fast, resilient, blah--this list takes no intelligence
to compile, I don't know why you're being snide. You're
just some idiot sysadmin wannabe jockey who gleans
sensationalist fluff from computer hobbyist magazines that
get excited about windows's new file system, late release
date, linux's new release process, and solaris's interest in
x86.

no not really.

you didn't say why you tablets suck

you just said they suck.

uhh, why don't you share why and how you dont like them so
many we can create a discussion on what would be more
suitable-a-device for people such as yourself.

I for one, have never seen a tablet pc in person.

well, i'll tell you one thing. that thing won't last for 15
hours, that's for sure. my 40gb 4gen ipod doesn't even come
close to 12 hours unless it's on repeat with no extra
settings on. they give you a completely ridiculous battery
time.

i have the exact same one you have and love it! One of the
best music related purchases ever. I've got mine in a iskin
case so it doesn't get scratched up. You should get a case
for yours.

as for the new one, at almost £500 I would rather buy an
ibook for the little extra. I can view "and" edit pictures
on that, along with everything else an ibook can do :)

but most of my friends who have em have ipods...and they are
very sexy.

for an alternative, tony, check out Dells mp3DJ or
something.

There are coupons going around every other week.

You can ge the 15gb or 20gb model (i forget which one) for
$139 after coupon codes. lol
