if you're not from the uk he probably wont mean anything. he
was a legend in his own right, the pioneer of new music, and
the only radio dj who didnt play utter shite and talk inane
drivel. always came across as a very down to earth bloke.
will be greatly missed.

Even being an american I know who John Peel is/was. A lot
of musicians have released the tracks they performed on his
show. Autechre, Boards of Canada, Nirvana, and many others.
Pink Floyd had a few visits too. AFX never bothered to
release his performances. It's shame that he's dead. There
will be no more "Peel Sessions. :(

hopefully this will prompt the bbc to either release more
peel sessions or at least make them available through the
internet

I think radio1 should continue with the term 'Peel
sessions'. Honour the man and his contribution to music.

wouldn't say i'm ignorant, just norwegian, but yes i know
very well who he was. i think the world of good music has
lost a great man.

there were 2 ND peel sessions

and not knowing john peel because you're not from the uk is
a weak excuse. he's a legend. everyone with a mild interest
in music going from indierock to noise should know who the
man was :p
