The AFX sessions where great. Especially the 95' set. Nice
unreleased tracks. Anyone got a good lossless copy of the
AFX peel sessions?

So many good ones. The Birthday Party and Belle and
Sebastian, maybe. And the Smiths, that's my favorite version
of Reel Around the Fountain. Dating back the to '60s and BBC
Sessions back then, I love the warm (and sometimes cold)
sound they got from those studios. I almost always find
versions of songs that I like more than the album originals.

Autechre's first one. Unique tracks among their
catalogue...

The Orb's first one as well.

Orbital gets a mention (especially for Semi-Detached).

i can't claim to have heard even a small percentage of
john's sessions but my favourites were

explosions in the sky
mogwai (the last couple of maida vale sessions)
super furry animals (especially the lovely downbeat set from
a couple of weeks ago)
low

and loads of other stuff like bearsuit, cinerama, mclusky

RIP john

cLOUDDEAD's set (with Boom Bip and doseone's set before it)
is the only one I've heard and it's ace. All the songs that
Boom Bip and doseone do completely blow away the album
versions, and there are tracks from cLOUDDEAD that I haven't
heard on any of their proper releases. Mmmm.

I agree with you, the cLOUDDEAD one is the best I have
heard. But then, I've heard a shamefully small amount.

Yarr, that mclusky session was really quite amazing. I'm
fucking bemused that there's never going to be another peel
session or another festive 50. I did a little bit of sad
crying the other night.

Arr Eye Pee mr peel.

the first i ever heard was the pumpkins one and it's very
very special stuff they never played at gigs really (i think
i have one or two versions of girl named sandoz [originally
by the animals] in my collection of 112 pumpkins boots) but
the autechre 1st peel session is gold.
