wow, what a harrowing movie this was. i'm surprised i never got around to seeing it way back when it came out, but i'm happy i finally did. not something i necessarily want to watch again, but very good. and philip seymour hoffman is amazing.

yeah it is a great film. i saw it a few months ago
you know though, there are two scenes where you can clearly see the boom mic coming in at the top of the screen, like really clearly. I don't know how they didnt pick it up, unless it was on purpose.
but anyway, its quite an interesting film. worth seeing at least once.

i saw welcome to the dollhouse, haven't seen the other one yet. i liked it, but it just doesn't have the impact of happiness.

great film - probably his best. very, very heavy. it was hard to get through it, in a way. but of course, it's worth it. my favorite scene is the opening scene with john lovitz. that was awesome.

yes... oh man... yeah i won't be watching this again any time soon... it's so thoroughly sardonic in its own little suburbanite way... the cinematic world it engenders is so unpleasant... like flourescent lighting or something... tough to describe properly... but definitely worth seeing once or twice...

yeah, that is a great scene. one thing i liked about this is the fact that it doesn't simply objectify the child molester character as being an evil monster, which is the trap alot of movies would fall into with that kind of subject matter, essentially falling victim to the same kind of objectification the character is doing.
