It's funny how drastic and pervasive a mental state is. (arch carrier is only used as an example; all songs exhibit this to a degree, though with this one it is so clear since a strong repeating isorhythmic figure is continuously throughout the track) Anyway, sometimes when I listen to arch carrier, it sounds slow, and my mind sees each initial note in clear isolation and wonders where the hell the activity in this void is. Other times it just sounds kinda slow and I listen to it in units of 4 notes. Often when I'm doing something technical and it comes on, then I think it's slow. That's funny, because that means, in effect, I have reved up my brain. |
