DO NOT vote for George W Bush

I just read this on the merck site:

--Merck crew would like to remind our US fans to vote on
November 2nd--
*We ask that you please DO NOT vote for george w bush.
Besides taking over
the world, him and his corporate friends are actively
hurting and impeding
record labels like Merck, and artists like the ones released
on Merck.

what do they mean with it? in which way does George Bush
hurt small record labels... sorry for the ignorance

I got this from an internet poll, Bush 47.5% and Kerry
47.3%
how come Bush still gets more votes?

"what do they mean with it? in which way does George Bush

I don't think Bush himself does it, but his corporate
friends probably do.. however, that would NOT be the main
reason not to vote for Bush.. a good reason not to vote for
him is that whoever is pulling his strings is crazy!

"how come Bush still gets more votes?"

daddy dearest got friends in high places.. plus he's
probably still cheating.. and then there are those idiots
that really believe that he'll do better this time around...

I know, but this was from a small internet poll.. or are
they everywhere...

well.. SOMEONE would have to vote in the poll, wouldn't
they? it is, of course, possible that they just really
BELIEVE he'll do good, but I do NOT see how ANYONE could
think anything like that...

I hope I'm proved wrong but I think Bush will be in the
White House again... I was going to say 'for another 4
years' but, quite possibly, we'll all be dead by then.

in four years, all that's left in the world is Bush, his dog
Bucky, and an "armadiller."

It doesn't matter who get's your vote - cause it's not Bush
or Kerry who deside what will happen in the next years. They
are only puppets for the public. Anyway will Bush win the
election as the last time.

"how come Bush still gets more votes?"

> that's what i'm wondering too ' _' everywhere i go on
non-american messageboards, every person i've talked to
about the subject, almost everyone is for Kerry... i guess
people frequenting messageboards, the ones i meet at the
university etc. aren't representative of the general opinion
anyway, they're mostly young people whereas industrialized
countries have lots of old people.

i don't know Kerry's program well... i should get more
information on this even if i'm not american, anyway a lot
of people seem to be "anti-Bush" rather than "pro-Kerry"...

Bush could very well win even if everyone hates him; Chirac
got re-elected in France as well, even if the great majority
of the population were against him... (it wasn't for the
same reasons though)

something like this on their website

I picked this topic title to get some attention because
there are only a few xltronicers who actually like the music
that Merck release

I wish I could vote tho

Drunken Mastah, keep in mind you, nor many people on this
messag eboard actually live in the US. And if so, it's not
many people out of 250+Million.

I know a shitload of people voting for Bush, and the same
for Kerry. It's like...just because all you see is Bush
hating on the internet, doesn't mean that everyone is voting
for Kerry. There are plenty (shown in polls) of people who
support the repubs and Bush. Just cause they aren't
screaming around on the internet, doesn't mean they aren't
there.

Hope you can see this point of view.

yes, I see the point of view, but I do not see the
relevance... you just stated that there are lots of people
voting for both bush and kerry... which is something we
agree on.. however, I think anyone who votes for either is
stupid, and that people don't realise that to change things,
the republicans and the democrats have to lose their hold..
a two-party system doesn't work!

and.. I'm not quizzing YOU on how "your" country runs... I
was replying to Uzim.. you had nothing to do with it.

offline elusive from detroit (United States) on 2004-10-20 08:20 [#01366939]
Points: 18368 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

Ok, I agree with you for the most part on the 2party system.
:)

They push out 3rd parties so bad .. grrr

But no, I was trying to reply to you, saying that how can
the polls be like that ... how can so many ppl be voting for
bush when all you hear is on tv and online is how everyone
hates bush and they are voting for kerry.

I know, it's weird isn't it !

Points: 35867 Status: Lurker | Followup to elusive: #01366939 | Show recordbag

I'd call it stupidity... the thing is that people who vote
for Kerry don't necessarily do it because they like him..
they do it because they hate bush.. and I'm glad you agree
on the two-party system, because here it shows its power..
there ARE other parties after all, but the only REAL choices
are the two main parties... if people voted for what they
LIKED, the two-party system would be dissolved.. however,
people don't think that voting for any other party helps
because no-one else votes for them... and that's an evil
circle.

now, the polls and tv-stuff about people voting for kerry is
just because it's more "news" than voting for Bush... bush
IS president.. he's already bEEN voted for, so he's not
"news." Kerry is.. people who vote for Bush may be the
majority, but they're not news!

goldfish principle." (anything but the bowl is soon
forgotten)

Dude, voting for either isn't stupid, its necessary. I hate
the two party system as well, and I wanted Kucinich for
pres, but guess what, Kerry is the best thing we have right
now. And the lot of foriegners that are saying that kerry is
just as bad as Bush needs to pull their head out of their
ass and do some fucking research. They are COMPLETELY
DIFFERENT PEOPLE. So stop saying that nothing will change if
Kerry is elected. Thats just ignorant.

they are NOT completely different.. even americans
themselves see that the two parties are practically the
same.. Kerry is JUST AS BAD AS BUSH, BUT HE PHRASES HIMSELF
DIFFERENTLY (Bush: "we'll go to war on terror!" | Kerry:
"america won't go to war because we WANT to! We'll go to war
because we NEED to!" ..same meaning, only Kerry says it in a
way that makes him more appealing, since he calls war
necessary...)
