its ending right now. bush just pointed out that his wife
"speaks better english" than he does, and that people
"understand what she's saying".

Kerry didnt talk about his wife on a personal level... if it
did it would go something like this "oh yeah that thing
sitting over there. yeah i know her"

hahahha

It wasn't as satisfying as the other two.

I flinched when Kerry talked about Cheney's daughter.

it was a low blow by kerry to mention cheney's daughter
sexuality. who is he to bring that out like that. i thought
it was uncalled for...

kerry pointed out that cheneys daughter is a lesbian, in
relation to some question on whether or not you choose to be
gay.

Maybe in a presidential debate. But when I'm watching these
things, I always think to myself "Oh, to that I would say
_______". But then I realise why they don't. It would piss
people off. It's probably hard to prevent offending any
people.

there was a question asked. "do you believe that
homosexuality is a matter of choice or you're born that
way."
kerry said something along the lines of "vp cheney's
daughter is a lesbian.." and then segued that into his
answer, which is that its not a choice, you're born gay. it
seemed a little unnessecary.

well, ANX isn't Internet2,

but internet 2 + what everyone "considers" as the internet =
more than 1 internet = internet(s) so bush was correct in
his speaking.

and the ANX is another "internet" you just don't know about
them.

there are more

so don't make jokes and mock on shit you are obviouslywrong
about.

Internet is a system of networks.

You cannot join networks from 1 segregated (by physical and
logical links) network to another seperate internet /network
and consider it part of the same network.

There are multiple "Internets" out there....

by that reasoning, if you're to argue in a reductionist
manner, every computer is its own internet, seeing as
multiple components of the same pc communicate with each
other via various protocols.

silly.

i'm off to use the bittorrent and soulseek internets for a
bit.

anyway, let's get this back on topic. this petty semantic
shit is of less importance than the subject of the thread.

elusive it's only one. and if another one existed.. then it
would be connected t0 "ours" in no time so that would make
it the same one.

offline elusive from detroit (United States) on 2004-10-13 22:33 [#01362587]
Points: 18368 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

no it doesn't.

because if it's not connected than it's still another
internet.

get it?

Internet (as we know it) is ... "Internet"

Internet2 is built on new physical and logical
infrastructure to be designed as a "parallel" internet, thus
a 2nd internet...

we have many more of these "internets" in the manufacturing
field / different sectors that span worldwide, you just
never hear about them cause you don't need to know about
them.

They ARE internets.

Don't get confused

offline OK on 2004-10-13 22:36 [#01362590]

and i don't care about your computer igenier definition
about an internet.

I'm pretty sure BUSH doesn't know that in your point of view

that bush is stupid.

get off your high horse. you're not the only person here who
works in this industry. you're coming across as very
arrogant in this thread, imo.

if new standards become commonplace, people will still call
them the internet. TCP/IP is still an unratified standard.
it's only a standard because everyone uses it, not because
the IEEE has deemed it so.
