second bad vibel experience

strange but I like this track better in audio only than in
dvd

when I see the video I like it but I fins the nusic less
emotive than when I listen to the track in my cd player
(only audio)

in the case of gantz graf I prefer the track while I see the
video, but in this case I much prefer the music alone

does this happen to you?

yes but I hate watching music videos in
general...occasionally like Gantz Graf the music is better
with some visual thing going on

i think this brings us to the question: what is the fucking
point of music videos? RDJ himself said, in reference to
Windowlicker, that he didn't like a track being tied to a
visual image. Beyond the pop fluff that needs the video as a
vehicle to sell its shit, what really is the point?

I haven't watched a music video in a long time, conscious
decision. It's just one of my mental quirks that it really
bothers me to have an image (other that which I have in my
own mind) associated with a song. Sometimes even album
covers cloud my judgement. Y'know, in the MP3 age, there's a
lot of albums you grab before you know the art... I'm
routinely disapointed when I actually DO see it.

its an interpretation of the music by the director of the
video. Some directors are just lame, so you get a lame video
in return.

yes, i love that song better without images. and i dont like
gantz graf in none of the cases...
anyway, i think that people should make a better conjugation
between images and music (not only a history in images
following the music rythm), where the relation between both
lenguages creates a new sense... (shitty explanation again,
sorry)

i think im gonna explore that way/area/path some day, as im
suposed to be a videomaker/ audiovisual expert and i make
?music...

I like videos because I usually know what I would do if I
made it... instrumental music like electronica lets you do
pretty much anything so I have nothing against it. I like
the format.

I think some tracks are best not to focus your whole mind on
and if the video can't distract you when it's a bit dull
(Second Bad Vibel's video is pretty boring overall) then the
video has basically made you unneccesarily attentive.

wake up you sleepy head, put on some clothes shake off your
bed.
put another log on the fire for me, i made some breakfast
and coffee.
i look out the window and what do i see: a crack in the sky
and a hand reaching down to me.
all my troubles came today, and it looks as tough they're
here to stay.

I also prefer listening to the music rather than watching
the video AND listening to the music... allways. I don't
feel the same. But some videos are nice though.

What about that Basscadet-video? Looks like any other
techno-video from early 90s.

Autechre are the best band in the world. I just had to tell

C'mon.. the Windowlicker video is the ultimate pisstake on
bootyshakin black pop videos with a song that outfunks
everything. The world would be worse without it.

Second bad vibal... i love its lofiness

how would you be as a small child watching telly these days.
why is that lady pointing her bottom at that man. still back
in my day we had cartons of choc milk being tipped down
bikini tops. that was pretty mysterious.

i certainly wouldn't have my kids watch mtv these days, if i
had any... daytime music television over here shows videos
that are more disturbing than chris cunningham could ever
conjure up
