Shaun Of The Dead

Just bought this on DVD - like a super long weird episode
of Spaced - awesome stuff - love the horror movie references
littering it... Might get the 3 CD Spaced box set, only
£20.

Yes, it's brilliant. It manages to stray to the brink of
cheesy generic nonsense a couple of times but just at that
threshold point they pull off a joke in the plot that drags
it right back into quality. I've watched it three times so
far, which for me is a rare thing as I have the attention
span of a gnat.

I loved it too.

for some reason I absolutely love the bit where Pegg climbs
up the kid's slide and the camera doesn't follow him up. and
the face he's pulling when he comes down again.

the commentary track with Penelope Wilton and Bill Nighy is
fun too.

I've already got both Spaced DVDs so I was a bit miffed when
they new box set came out. I am going to order Shaun of the
Dead pronto.

Sorry this is a really shit post that really could have been
left out. I am just saying, I am a big fan. Sorry.

My younger brother has the 2-disc Spaced set, which I've
watched. The 3-disc set looks worth buying.

Paul: Awesome film. Full of nice little touches about other
zombie films.

Lee: I agree.

Alex: Very true.

Chris! I found a great torrent for both Spaced series and
I've seen them now. :)

they're pretty great. I liked the second series more. I
loved the bit at the end of episode 6 of the 2nd series
where they do the complete "empire strikes back" pastiche,
with Tim saying "we'll meet at the rendez-vous" and Mike
making that kind of wookie-noise.. :)

its suprising how many people like this film, considering
spaced was quite a low key affair.......i went to see it at
my local arts theatre (in his home town) with simon pegg
himself doing a Q&A sesh. top bloke. top film.

yeah, told you it was good.......i love the bit where simon
pegg is going to the shop to get a couple of things and he
doesnt notice the zombies getting closer and closer
throughout the 1 take shot ........spaced was great as
well......looking forward to whatever they do next :)
......
My favourite spaced moments........the paintball
episode......the bit where the pilled up friend comes round
and starts dancing to the phone ringing/kettle boiling
etc...........and of course the resi evil bit :)

Spaced!

Spaced is the TV series Simon Pegg made in the style of
Shaun Of The Dead minus zombies.

I just loved the bit in the first episode of the second
series where Tim says he has been burning all his Star Wars
stuff and Daisy says "The Phantom Menace" wasn't that bad
really. the INSANE face Tim pulls after she says that is
classic.

Haha, yes, that is a good face. I liked the pulp
fiction reference in that episode too, mike coming out of
the toilet reading "oranges are not the only fruit" made me
laugh like a wanker.

I wonder - if I would have ordered the same things and they
were posted on the same day, I would be guaranteed to get
the PlayUSA.com-order before the English Play.com-order.

now I don't know if this is because the US mailsystem and
the Dutch mailsystem just work better together, or because
the British mailsystem just sucks in general, but for me,
PlayUSA.com is always much faster..!

now, I'm pretty sure if you're living in the UK like you,
Chris, that your normal Play.com-order will arrive earlier..
surely..?

I can categorically say YES to that. My Hellraiser Lament
Box and my Dawn of the Dead: Ultimate Edition were posted
the same day. Hellraiser in UK and Dawn of the Dead US.
Hellraiser arrived one day earlier I think. I got them both
the same day though. They were at the post office :(
Didn't playuk ship from Jersey originally? I don't know if
they still do.

The UK Postal service is fucking terrible though.
