String Quartet No.13( In B-Flat, Op.130) Cavatina: Adagio molto espressivo
I like the yale quartet version the most because it's so expressive and sad. I think it's best to hear beethoven in more than one interpretation because they can be very different

i think the main reason for most people to listen to classical music is image cultivation, so that they can show off what highfalutin music they listen to.

I used to hate Beethoven because it's constrantly changing - I liked Bach because it was so geometric and regular like crystals forming. Now Bach bores me and I like Beethoven. I like the 6th symphony because they used it on The Simpsons.

i play some bach on the piano, it is everything but boring! disciplined clarity, unachieved elsewhere!
yeah that constant change is hard to overcome, thats where my problems start with this music, it takes long to get the big picture of a symphony.
welt - you'll think different when you have found a way in.

Maybe bored was the wrong word - baroque just isn't what I'm in the mood for these days. I like something that has a more human ebb and flow instead of proceeding by celestial rule.

there is classical music i like like bela bartok or rather experimental stuff like john cage or arnold schönberg, that i really like.
but looking at the audience or "scene" that surrounds music of the "wiener klassik" or bach etc there's a lot of showmanship. more than in any form of music listeners of classical music tend to be elitist and see their fav music as the objectively superior. then you have operas, dresscodes and the whole lofty attitude.
and it's easy to imagine that people who are into more mainstream styles of music claim they'd love some classical music to appear more opend minded in terms of music etc without ever really occupying themselves with the music.
but then again genres like hiphop are also full of showmanship and people that arent into that music tend to only see the showmanship-part of the genre without being able to imagine that it also has musical depth.
um. maybe if i'll get more into the standard classical stuff i'll really see things differently.
