giginger

many parts of that DVD are very grab-able!

mortsto-x

no problem mate

i would do requests, but my time here is limited - i leave
tomorrow. anyways, hopefully these few wallpapers will be
useful to someone :)
that is before giginger goes ahead and does screengrabs of
every single frame of the whole DVD and puts them up for
download! :D

After testing the GG's, they strike me as typical
"computer-nerd"-backgrounds to people unaware of the
Autechre video. I think I'll stick with the Rhubarb

heh

lol

yeah i modded the donkey rhubarb one to look more vivid -
bright oranges and blues is nice :)

i'm in the process of grabbing that weird eye shot from the
DVD - shall up it as soon as its done

I might just do that whole frame thing....

I think I have this program that does it actually :D

jesus h. christ on a fucking rubber crutch

i want that program, but for Mac

damn you must need a large hard drive to get through a whole
film!

DVDs are at 25fps right?

i can't be bothered to do the math

25fps? except for some animation-films and such, almost all
films are 24fps...

Well I wouldn't do a whole film you silly sausage. I think
you just tell it what section you want. Makes screengrabs
easier. If you know it's in a certain 10 seconds the bit you
want then BAM!

I hope this program really is on my computer. I'm sure it is
:s

oh i must be thinking of UK broadcast then - i'm sure that
is 25fps

:)

eh? why would they make programs one frame faster than
everyone else?

I remember there being some trick that if you wanted people
to get confused while watching a film, you'd add or remove a
frame at certain places, but not throughout the whole
film...

heh, yeh but imagine how much space it'd take to do a whole
film? especially if your res is mad-style like the
workstation you have at work!!!

what did you do to that wallpaper? put some kind of glow
effect on it? :)

"A standard PAL TV shows 25 frames per second on the screen.
For DVDs, each frame is made up of 576 viewable lines. An
electron beam inside the picture tube 'paints' the picture
on the phosphor coating on the end of the tube. It starts at
one corner, zooms horizontally across to the other corner,
switches off for an instant while the aiming point zooms
back to a point just below the first starting point, then it
repeats the process. When it finally gets down the bottom of
the tube, it switches off for a longer period then comes
back to the starting point."

I'm guessing about 4 times the size it would be as an avi
:D

I just screwed around with that wallpaper. Made various
layers at different transparencies that all had different
effects.

it seems framerates have become more of a preferential thing
nowadays, but originally, with silent films, it was 16, and
then it became 24.

almost at the bottom

i know that the reason why music in films a lot of the time
sounds pitched up because they're syncing it to the
framerate of the film??

or at least that's what it seems to be?

Is there any way you could perhaps rip the Seefeel video off
the DVD and share it with me? I would be ever so thankful.

i could rip it, but it will take me some time......and the
only way i could share is via AIM or something like
that......

well, myself I am on MSN and soulseek, but if you could rip
it for me (high quality)and there is no other way I'm
willing to create an AIM account for it (yes I need the vid
THAT bad ;) )

do you have a reasonably fast upload speed?

i can't get on SoulSeek, i can't be arsed to go through UNIX
commands to install it, and MSN for Mac has problems doing
file transfers :(

i have a 1.5mb broadband connection, i'm not sure how fast
the upload speed is but it's pretty damn quick.

so you want the Fracture vid?

offline oscillik from the fires of orc on 2004-09-30 07:17 [#01348905]

fuck, i can't rip it!!!!!

the disc is using some mad kind of encryption or something,
but it's as if all the videos are all interspersed with each
other :(

Handbrake won't rip it :(

sorry man, i won't be able to rip it for you, but i'm sure
that someone else on here will have the capability to rip
and upload for you

damn, that's pissed me off - now i can only do whole DVD
copies for people

I'd love to have it. Warp used to offer a lo-fi stream of
the video on their site but even that crappy version is gone
now.
I'm a huge seefeel fan so I NEED to have this :D. I'll see
if I can get AIM to work on my 'puter, should be fine. How
long do you think it will take to rip the vid and can you
estimate how big it will be?

No credit card, might buy it one day once I get a chance to
borrow my sis'. And besides my need for the Fracture video
exceeds the need for any of the other vids on it.
