really recent interview with someone who has actually
played HL2.

Chris, you kind of hint at it in your initial post with that
*To be made available upon product's release., but
you forgot to fully mention it: "The Steam offers will be
available for purchase next week. Those who purchase via
Steam, will receive the final version of Counter-Strike:
Source immediately. Half-Life 2 and other games in the Steam
offerings will be made available to purchasers upon their
release."

it's the original HL ported to the new HL-engine. exactly
the same game but with snazzy visuals. a nice little extra.

Heh! That was the one where the guy ripped off my idea. They
put his in because it was Photoshopped better. It was the
worst day of my life.

Here was mine:

So hmm... is DOD:Source a good multiplayer thingy?
Basically it's all I need to know, 'cause my interest in the
original Half_life sourced is low (I played it too much back
then).

Since HL2 will only have Counter-Strike in the game as a
multiplayer mode (there's no HL2 multi other than CS), is
DOD a cool thing online? I never played it much... How is
it compared to BF1942?

I can't be arsed with the download. I'll get the collectors
editor on retail. Anyways the RDJRPG will totallyblow this
game outta da water .. when I .. er ... get 'round to it
*cringe*. :P

Seriously though I've been considering doing it as a TCmod
of HL2 or UnrealT2k4 rather than writing my own engine (as
job hunting's getting in the way of that). I'm leaning
towards Unreal as I already have experience modding that but
I'll wait until HL2 is out before deciding.

actually, a couple of my friends have their own forum and
they are really into all this HL2-stuff, so they gather all
this information for me.. :P

thanks for the preload information. also great to see how
it's been stuck on 84% for a few hours now. :(

oh well, it still is Steam ofcourse..
