i nearly hit an entire flock/herd/gaggle of deer this weekend.
it was wierd, i thought they were going to turn away, but they kept running straight for my car. i think they had a death wish.
i'd almost swear one of them turned around and shot me a bird.

interesting side note: did you know that a group of crows is called a 'murder of crows'?
it's true.

besides "a murder of crows", you can apparently also say "a hover of crows" and "a storytelling of crows".

also apparently, this is a possible etymology of "murder of crows":
A 'murder' of crows is based on the persistent but fallacious folk tale that crows form tribunals to judge and punish the bad behavior of a member of the flock. If the verdict goes against the defendant, that bird is killed (murdered) by the flock. The basis in fact is probably that occasionally crows will kill a dying crow who doesn't belong in their territory or much more commonly feed on carcasses of dead crows. Also, both crows and ravens are associated with battlefields, medieval hospitals, execution sites and cemeteries (because they scavenged on human remains). In England, a tombstone is sometimes called a ravenstone.

I, however, am a varitable treasure trove of this:
There are two Mexicans who have been lost in the desert for weeks and they're at death's door. They stumble on, hoping for salvation in the form of an oasis or something similar, then they suddenly spy, through the heat haze, a tree off in the distance. As they get closer they can see that the tree is draped with rasher upon rasher of bacon. There's smoked bacon, crispy bacon, life-giving juicy nearly-raw bacon, all sorts.
"Hey, Pepe" says the first bloke (Don Pedro). "Ees a bacon tree!!! We're saved!!!"
"You're right, amigo!" says Pepe. So Pepe goes on ahead and runs up to the tree salivating at the prospect of food. But as he gets to within five feet of the tree, there's the sound of machine gun fire, and he is shot down in a hail of
bullets...
His friend quickly drops down on the sand and calls across to the dying Pepe.
"Pepe!! Pepe!! Que pasa hombre?"
With his dying breath Pepe calls out... "Ugh, run, amigo, run!! Ees not a Bacon Tree!" .......
"Ees... a... Ham Bush"

i was driving the trans-canada highway at 3am a few years back. it isn't lit that well in places, so all i could see was the road from my head lights.
suddenly, we were driving over a 20 patch of blood and guts. i think it was a deer... at least, i HOPE it was a fucking deer. scared the shit out of us.

That's horrible, an awful way to go. And I think it's weird how you added two rs to the double r in ''lorry''.
I can't wait until we have a better way of getting around that doesn't involve brutish, polluting hunks of metal.
