what did you guys think of the Nakamura/Yoshihide/Sachiko M
record... i have noticed that both of you have mentioned
it... tell me how you like it... i really want to know (both
for myself, and plus i'm curious if anyone else around here
is legitimately interested in this sort of thing, as i am)

i like it quite alot, but i'm a big fan of yoshihide's
stuff, so i might be a bit biased. its definitely an improv
record, with some heavy use of pure tones and sine waves and
things, so it could be pretty boring for some people. but
yeah, good stuff.

i don't know if you've heard "dreams" by yoshihides new jazz
ensemble, but thats what actually got me into this music. it
doesn't sound much of anything like the record you're
talking about, but it does feature sachiko m on a sampler
along with yoshihide on guitar/turntables.
theres also a record called "thumb" that has sachiko,
yoshihide and a couple of other improvisers on it, which is
pretty good, although not much actually occurs over the
course of it.

the only time i ever get to listen to it is on my computer
late at night when i work on papers... so i still don't feel
like i've given it a proper listen yet... particularly since
my sound card gives off a bit of a hiss... have you heard
Time Travel? i think that one's fabulous... but then i am
a huge fan of Gunter Muller... but yeah, really... if you
enjoy this album you should definitely check out other
erstwhile releases... if you haven't already, that is...

i haven't heard thumb... but i've been meaning to, because i
absolutely love Oren Ambarchi, and Keith Rowe is pretty
excellent as well... although, i still don't think i am
appreciating hims as much as i should...

but yeah, i actually have dreams on my computer... haven't
given it a listen in a very long time though.... i reckon
i'll have to do that this weekend

dreams is definitely less experimental than good morning
good night or thumb. its jazzy, but i like the structure of
the songs on it, and the instrumentation and imrov that
yoshihide does do is top notch.
i should download time travel sometime. i had a hard time
finding alot of this stuff on soulseek, but i've actually
bought dream and good morning good night since then.

i actually don't have soulseek anymore since i switched over
to a mac system. right now i don't have any clients to
download with. if i get my pc back up and running i'll try
that out though, probably under my old jakeslazenger42
username.

yeah, lumnaya
sorry i didn't see this topic before : )

i've only listened to Good Morning Good Night once, but i
liked it. it's pretty harsh, you have to *really* like
experimental consisting of high-pitched sounds and clicks
and this kind of things without music nor rhythm, but i
liked it.... i'm considering ordering it on CD
