how much CDs do you think i can buy without having to pay a
tax (from USA [amazon.com] to france)? i never had to pay
anything with just 1, but once they somewhat fucked up and
sent me a hugely oversized package containing 3 of them and
there was a custom tax notice (fortunately the mailman
fucked up as well and didn't ask for anything, so i didn't
pay)....

do you think they would let pass a package of 2 CDs for
free, or that i should rather order them separately
(increasing the shipping price, but lowering the risk of
having custom taxes to pay)?

It's random I believe. I've had stuff slip through that was
more expensive than stuff that got taxed :s
