Great news! I was beginning to wonder if any of the big
artists in this genre were ever going to release new
material. Maybe between Analord (snicker, snicker) and this,
we're beginning to see a renaissance?

and hoorary for new bola, i own the vinyl jello - voile and
altough i'd prefer fuyti or soup, it's well produced calm
funky melodic and just good all in all
the single is worth it much for the piano only song from ae,
quite a departure from their habitual sound

Hot DAMN. I still think Fyuti is one of the best elektronik
albums I've ever heard. Gonna be a tough LP act to follow,
hope that big time gap is a good sign.

And I wonder if the art/packaging is going to be as
slobberknocking as it was for Fyuti.

This will be released on Novemer 29th.

Other SKAM news:

Due to piracy, and promotional copy manipulation, all
advance copies of skam material from now on will not be
complete, and have random edits within.
:( sorry.

kmas series (7"s) - will no longer be pre releases to
albums, vinyl is to precious to contain the same song twice,
all skam 7"s will now only contain exclusive tracks, the
catalogue no. will still link up with albums, but will be a
project in its own right.

TEAM DOYOBI - Antiquity - ska026.
New 12" coming next week, a spanner in the works, so to
speak.

TEAM DOYOBI - PUSH CHAIRS FOR GROWN UPS. SKA016R CD.
Release date DECEMBER 6TH.
featuring :- autechre/beige/snd/wevie
stonder/birmingham/ryoco kuwajima/hecker/hot troche/made.
On cd only>>>>>>>

QUINOLINE YELLOW - DOL GOY ASSIST.
New album is ready, and will be available very soon.

FREEFORM - OUTSIDE IN. Has been mastered, and will be
available in february 2005

CAT COMPILATION
Is almost ready for release, the sleeve is still taking a
little longer than expected.
This will be a double cd only album.
More info to follow very shortly.......

All looks very good to me :)

so basically, they admit it, we are fucked, because"gnayse"
that's been floating around on slsk is 100% authentic
bolaman. damn i had hopes that when i buy the record it
will be better. oh well, i'll buy it anyways cause i'm a
sucker for skam.

well my question is who is skam apologizing to about the "no
more advance copies" thing? certainly not pirates like
mahself......but who else benefits from them that would be
reading the skam site? or just in general?

i'm not a headphones kind of person, i have to wear them all
day at work and they make my ear rattle because i had a bad
trauma to my ear when i was 10 and now there is a tendon
that is fucked. i have nice speakers in my room though, and
it sounds good but that doesn't make the melodies suck any
less (save for a couple of interesting ones) -- i'm a melody
kind of gal.

Pfane1, Vheineray, Effaninor are pretty weak melody wise. I
like all the other tracks though!

I'm quite liking 'EFFANAJOR'

in the liner notes it says it's published by peacefrog and
copyrighted by skam.

kind of freaky since this does sound like a cross between
bola up until this release and jello. (i know they are the
same person)

i dont get it, what does it mean when something is published
by a record company?

well apparantly if you copyright something you can feel fre
to "reproduce the copyrighted work, to prepare derivative
works, to distribute copies of the work, and to perform and
display the work publicly."

i think with publishing, they have to put everything
together. i guess the guys over at peacefrog made sure
everything was put together right as far as packaging,
materials, and number of copies produced BUT most likely
under skam's order.

it's kind of a weird thing they did.

if you could match it against soup and fyuti, how does it
compare? i am still debating getting it

well i'd rate soup and fyuti as 9's i guess out of 10
gnayse i'd say is about a 7

it's a mixture of really all his sounds. there are a great
deal of sounds that remind me of magnasushi but not as
prominent. there is kind of the overwhelming atmospheric
sounds of soup on some tracks, where it kind of drenches in
synth. the kind structering (sp?) of jello tracks appears to
be there as well (doesn't really evolve as much as bola
stuff) and the jello piano is there as well. you should get
it.
