I just finished a new video that's a mix of live
action and animation. The genre of music probably isn't the
cup of tea of idmers, but what the hell...

Hope some of you enjoy it.

I like the way he looks at the camera the first time! IDMers
will love it!

It's quite a bad song in my opinion, but you viddyed it up
beautifully. I don't think he should look into the camera
when he's singing.

hey thanks Dannn_. About the looking into the camera:
producer asked me to put in closeups for the ladies.

"producer asked me to put in closeups for the ladies. "

sell out!

hehe, just kidding. The video is awesome, and as always your
visuals are fucking amazing. Although I agree with what
dann_ said, your skills and style seem way out of league
compared to the quality of the song.

Fine work though.

Aesthetics: I'd love to make a video for Warp. Going to
look for representation very soon and hopefully they'll get
wind of me at some point thereafter.

virginpusher: thanks!

-crazone: thanks a lot. As for my contribution, I
directed, designed, animated, photographed and edited the
video.

hyakusen: send me a link to your music as I'd love to hear
it , but I am making videos for a living now so it will have
to have a decent budget. Usually that's not paid by an
individual and rather by the record company you are signed
to.

scup_bucket: I work very hard and long hours and am careful
with my time. I spend a lot of time learning what I can
about art, technology, film, etc. I went to film school,
and I took lots of photos growing up. These are good things
to do.

amazing video, im a fan.

that artist is total shit. makes me sick.

but you cant really pick your artists can you, must be like
a contract job.

Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it. I guess the music's not
for everyone.

You usually can't afford to pick your artists, especially
when early in your career. A wise producer once told me you
have to decide whether you want to be a music critic or a
video director.

do it like Laurent Briet did with Nannou...
he just made an amazing video and Warp asked him if they
could use it and now it is the "official" video

out.
What software did you use?

That was excellent, I love the cel shaded look of it. agree
with wilcooo though: it'd be much better with a different
track and a different band.

Great work nonetheless!

nice job!
did you try to have a sense of two different videos in one
video (the computer graphics video on one side and the
real-wrold on the other)? personally i think the difference
between these two is a bit too big; the computer graphics
haven't got much to do with the real-life shots. i think
your video would be stronger if the band appeared only in
the computer-graphics world. in that way there would be more
of a sense of why the guitarman has a hard life (living in a
cold and computerized world).
anyway, you did an excellent job and i'll shut up now..

Aesthetics: yeah, Laurent Briet does awesome work. That's
probably a good way to do it.

wilcoooo and eXXailon: thanks guys! I used maya, after
effects, premiere, FCP and photoshop.

goDel: thanks for the comments! you've got to make choices
all along the way and the video you see is the sum total of
those choices.

looks like my site is kinda slow now, probably because of
the hurricane in Florida where my host is.
