I know this topic has probably been done before, but I felt like making a thread for the first time. So, the hell with it.
List one, if you please...The one album you would theoretically bring if stranded on a remote island that for some reason had a cd player and electricity on it... You know... Yeah.

I thought that was going to be vinyl only... I specifically said you would have a "cd player"...or is that your whole point, Slick?

Interesting that you say that. I had most songs from both that album and e.p. downloaded, but I actually bought each the other day and am now strangely a bit disapointed in them each as a whole. I like the weirder little bits alot, but the more straight "techno-ish" type songs (eww... I hate the term) are a bit borning in my opinion when compared to some of the older material or Drukqs.
I really love Girl/Boy, Milkman, and Fingerbib, though. Maybe the rest just needs to grow on me a bit more.

it probably will grow on you. i wasn't in love with it at first, i was like you, was only really fascinated with girl/boy, fingerbib, goon gumpas and 4. (i have the UK version). but i came to love it's unique sound, no other album sounds like it. it's so ahead of it's time. the music world will probably catch up on it in the year 6007, or maybe not. maybe it was an alien signal send to earth in 1824 and richard dug it up accidently in his back yard.
well the point is, it's just sound awesome to me.

Interesting. I'll give it more of a chance. Is there any difference in versions, because I bought mine used. (But it is most definitely the U.K. version.)
Perhaps there is an ultra rare Japanese version with a few added tracks that are really nothing at all.
It seems many artists release albums with a few more tracks on the Japanese version. Maybe the population in general there prefers quantity of tracks over a tight, connected quality whole of an album.
Hmm.

After doing some research, I have come the the conclusion that I do in fact have the american version, and it just has a few additional tracks from the Girl/Boy ep, which isn't a bad deal at all.

I wasn't saying that one version has more of that type of tracks (though the american version has a few more songs, which are basically just a few more mixes of Girl/Boy) I was saying that I prefer the weirder type tracks of the real tracks of the R.D.J. Album (U.K. version) compared to the more electronic-sounding or "techno-ish" songs, on either version. But if you haven't bought the album yet, I would suggest buying the american version if you don't feel like buying the Girl/Boy e.p. as well. But if you already have the U.K. version, just buy the Girl/Boy e.p. if you want those extra songs, because as AlbertoBalsalm pointed out, the american version of the R.D.J. album is the same as the U.K. version but with the Girl/Boy e.p. also tacked onto the end.
Phew!

drukqs is my favourite album currently, but if i were to take a cd to a desert island, i'd take the braindance coincidence, cos its a bit more varied.
