hey, if you didn't write that entire sentence with at least
one of the various commonwealth accents in mind, it most
definitely means to make babies

richards got a little girl correct ?
i dont mean to be a little "fan-boy" just wondering

ya know like maddonnaa has a 4-5 year old, Lortus ???
its kinda kool to see the famous offspring every so many
years or so, not a big deal, its sick though that and she
was complaining as do others, that celebreties has offspring
and there are website on the internet devoted towards the
innocent children of celebs

i hope that such websites get a rash

from soundmurderer again :

"like it says on the rephlex site, the binder is "made to
hold several editions" so i wouldn't call this a market
tester at all. when i made my comments above i was speaking
of all analord songs. i have no idea which two are on the
first release.

i wanted to write a long diatribe about people talking junk
about it being on abunch of vinyl 12"s... but nevermind,
people can think whatever they want the music will speak for
itself. i can tell you from personal experience that rephlex
is not concerned about just trying to make a dollar (or
pound, in their case). there's a lot of things people don't
consider, and maybe rightly so since i would assume the
majority are not directly involved with the industry side of
things (things such as, only 12"s with 3 or less tracks can
be considered to be charted, etc). but it's sad that the
first thing some people think of is the they're just trying
to coax an extra buck out of their fans."

peace

If these two tracks turn out shit then i'm going to cry. I
do have faith in Richard though, so I'm expecting
awsomeness. Come on you cunt lets have some analord acid.

fuck off.

he is finally rewarding hard core music fans , who let's be
honest tend to own turntables/a vinyl player , i acknowledge
being a fan doesnt mean having to own a record player or
whatever , but fuck it for those who have one , this is a
fucking delight. why the hell is anyone complaining - its
fucking old school style AFX from what senor vibert , mike p
and soundmurderer are saying... and i'm sure they are more
clued up than any of us.

and what about:

Was it mastered analogue, therefore zero digitisation from
source to final play?

and just look at the planet-mu label..Mike Ps says that he
dont even release shit on vinyl becaue he dont make any
money from it, a lot of planet-mu releases aint even on
12".

There u go, this release is for the ardcore fans.

He could make more money if he releasd 3 EPs on CD a la 4
tracks.

s'true. Single track 180g vinyl is probably the best audio
quality format we have.

done... gotta finish "Lily" too.

...of course not, that´s why it´s bit of a hoax to have
all this talk about analogue this & analogue that, isn´t
it??!!?

(but analogue synths do sound great, no doubt about that)

offline idle interloper on 2004-09-20 16:30 [#01340799]
Points: 418 Status: Lurker

Why would that be a hoax? Wasn't there all kinds of rumours
floating around about Richard's next release(s) being purely
analogue "acid" style? And wasn't someone talking about
reports of Richard spending all kinds of money on a Roland
Cv-Midi converter device, etc. (If anyone was to go purely
analogue in this day and age, and still have a somewhat
modern type of sound, it seems that would be a good tool,
and Richard obviously is a likely person to do such, since
he probably has quite a bit more money to invest than the
average electronic music producer...) And taking into
account the name of this new release, and the fact that it
is being released exlusively on vinyl, I would think it is a
fair assumption to say that this release will be analogue.

Eveyones gunna be buying up analogues now.
And yes, People on Analogue Heaven have been selling to a
Richard James without realising it was aphex. Until someone
pointed it out on the list. They give good trader comments
on the list. He was a good trader.

check how vinyl (raw 10khz) measures up to cd. Then be
happy.

"This means that, by definition, a digital recording is
not capturing the complete sound wave. It is approximating
it with a series of steps. Some sounds that have very quick
transitions, such as a drum beat or a trumpet's tone, will
be distorted because they change too quickly for the sample
rate."

i will join the speculation dialectic:

why it will suck:

if mr. james were to ask himself, 'how would i go about
making a killer profit?', his answer presumably would be:

1. release a couple of non sequitur tracks.
2. make them analogue so audiophiles want to get the vinyl.
3. press them on an exclusive medium to generate mystery.
4. generate hype by remaining mute on details.
5. ventriloquate some friends to bust a nut over this
online.
6. charge $$$.

why it won't suck:

even if this is a money-making ploy, why madden everyone and
release junk? undoubtedly it wouldn't be especially
difficult for him to assemble 13 minutes of excellent
material.

why it will suck:

why madden everyone and release junk

because richard loves to laugh at his fans, especially for
their monotheistic devotion to him. my guess is that for a
long time now he has been releasing under psuedonyms and
using the afx moniker to abuse the fanbase (i.e. us).

it is typical for artists tauted as brilliant to be struck
with fear.. after the public lynching drukqs received, maybe
richard is afraid to destroy his legacy with a release that
will be misunderstood.. he might be more inclined to leave
the aphex twin moniker and its legacy of perfection and hide
behind pranks..

why it won't suck:

goddamnit, because want it not to.

thats like total bollox, because cd audio quantizes the
analogue signal into 2^16 steps, so its quite hard to tell
the difference between cd, dvd and vinyl on not-so-good
systems.

Yep, £100 CD player hi fi sounds a lot better than £100
hi-fi with turntable.

However, in high end audiophile systems (not that I own one,
but I'm fortunate enough to of used a friend's) vinyl is the
bizniz.

how could the membrane of a speaker possibly move in

I'm not an expert on his releases or anything, but besides
that Smojface release (or however you spell it) when has
Richard "abused" his fans under the afx name?

offline hyakusen from 8=============> on 2004-09-21 17:36 [#01341737]

fuck audiophiles, i say you wont get much diference between
listening to afx anal shit on simple Cd player and some
serious expensive audiophile shit. afx is not from mars, hes
doing his stuff in normal way, its not cosmic technology,
besides, whats the fuckin purpose of making trakcs that are
best to listen at the best hi-fi system ? thats stupid.
if you wont have anything to say, you say about how
audiphile it will be, just because afx wants to earn wnother
pot of gold, and he will laugh at the end of the day. so he
releases another vinyl with two (sic ! ) tracks , and none
of aphex fans wont admit they were waiting for more, just
say how audiophile it will be.

AFX time is over i think, and all his pathetic fanatic fans
must admit it one day. hes not invincible.

I don't think anyone is saying that they would't love it if
he released more music, it's just that some people are
pointing out the sonic advantages of a release of this type,
rather than only griping about it only being two songs.
I think everyone here knows if they don't want to pay for
this release it will be possible to pirate it over the
internet, but they will be losing the superior sound quality
that one always receives when actually purchasing a physical
copy of the album.
