I really liked Fungus the Bogey Man when I was a kid. Now I am a dad myself I am looking forward to introducing it to my son.

I read it when I was about 6 or 7 it got so tattered that I saved up my pocket money and bought the hard back. I didn't like the Snowman or When the Wind Blows though.

Fungus the bogeyman is one of my all time favourites. I love raymond briggs full stop.
I liked "the very hungry caterpillar" a lot, and some sort of school reading-scheme book called "toby and the space cats". It was fucking psychedelic. Plus roald dahl, of course. The "mog" books about a seemingly mildly-retarded cat were excellent as well. And "the tiger who came to tea".
