Demo presets - you mean the ensembles like Carbon, Memory Drum and all that? Of course.
Two words of advice:
- Be patient. You won't learn it all in a weekend even if you know a fair bit about synthesis already. It's a visual programming language of sorts and you'll feel like less of an idiot if you understand and respect that.
- You'll find though that most of the big versatile ensembles use a chunk of CPU due to complex signal routing and switching - once you learn how to build stuff you can design more streamlined purpose-built ensembles that do one thing really really well, sound as good as their more complex brethren and don't eat all your CPU cycles.

If you're trying to open the demo ensembles from a cracked version of R4, it probably won't work as the cracked version is probably older than the demo. R4.03, for example, can't open ensembles saved in R4.12 - it's their way of encouraging users to actually buy the goddamned thing. Rest assured that the most recent legitimate version will be able to open anything.
