i don't really know anything about it. i study a lot of
classical philosophy but i guess that doesn't have much to
do with greece of today.

The government is fucking disgusting the way it promised to
spread the wealth of the games around and properly fucked
over the businesses and people in the towns and cities
surrounding Athens.

well, actually this year the government changed... the
socialists stopped having the power and the more
conservative party got it... there is some corruption
though. dont know much about what happened during the
olympic games...

I think of Greece as sunny and a bit ramshackle.

My girlfriend is greek.
I like Greece but I think that, from what she's told me
about Greek attitudes and the educational system and
politics and so on, that the Greeks are a bit fucked up (no
offense!) but then isn't everyone?

yeah the souvlakis are nice. (depends where)

as for the games, they would have never happened was it not
for a very rich greek bod and his money. the state was
acting like shit before they had even secured the games.

well, we like our country, and some of us are somehow too
proud.. if germans would be like that you would call them
nazis, for greeks it is patriotism... we are proud of the
weather, the culture, the food, the girls we have, and
easily say there is no country which has better as we
have... that's why i dont really like to make friendships
with greeks, many are like that... with education i dont
know what you mean, probably that the school is not enough
and everyone wanna study in greece, so the pupils have lot
of pressure and they go after school to another school to
learn more and more... it fuck them up, actually

I fail to see how you can be proud of something you have no
control over or participation in, like the weather...

well from what I have heard from Greeks the national
education system is crap and lacks disipline and therefore
most students end up handing over large wads of cash to
private schools for extra tuition.

I'm lucky to have found a Greek who has fallen in love with
France but it's true that many Greeks I met at university
where very nationalistic.

yeah, that's true what you say, i totally agree. It is easy
to provocate Greeks somehow. i mean, i dont go to greek
places like greek cafes or discos, as every greek in our
town do... i dont have greek friends except one, everyone
else has majority greek friends... i am vegetarian, what for
greeks is also not usual at all.. they think if you dont eat
meat you will die soon... i dont listen to the crap greek
music singing about love in a cheesy style... but i am proud
being greek, not for the people but for other things :)

good point on that german thing. i had a german boy in my
class 2 years ago and he said it was impossible to be proud
of being german; he would just be called a nazi or
something. but there are nations who are overly proud imo,
like italians for example. but it's fun to see that kind of
nations lose something, like a football match for instance
(it would of course be the ref's fault if they were to
lose).

phone booth-based prostitution marketing is alright by me.

How can I not like Greece, they invented the best song ever.
That one one guitar or banjoy thing that speeds up from slow
to insanely fast and everyone starts off dancing slowly and
get faster and faster until wooooooaahhhhhhhhhh! too fast.

Yeah I like that song.

i was surprised to see good looking girls actually...i've

i hardly know anything about greece...athens seem to be a
beautiful city. the only thing that bothers me when it comes
to greece are the tourists.

we found our kitty in greece, discarded only days
old.
my parents met in greece, on ios, years before i was born.
i have very fond memories of the islands and would love to
go back.

Greece is a paradise on earth appart from Athens..... The
islands and all are trully fantastic and full of history
that you can feel..... For the european cup... well... a bit
of luck and some good defence.... lucky for them the brits
were eliminated..... And the Olympics... Well waow for
that.... amazing security that we are still under by the
way.... (gotta be carefull for weed deals)... and it went
thru very easily with loads of success and world
records.....

Now for the Greeks.... i can't stand them pricks most of the
time... im not generalizing.... but some and a lot of 'em
are very rude and with no respect for what so ever... no
wonder it's one of the most poluted cities in europe. Once
in a while you encounter the nice and caring dude... appart
from that... The traffic drives you mad... like you can't
escape.... It's very furstrating and stressfull.... The food
is TOO oily... the weather is uplifting, it's about the only
thing that is.... And the cats and dogs wondering about
hungry and with injuries makes it sad......

O dear.... i hope i'll get out of here soon enough.... And
in another way... i miss it (a little) when im away..... so
it has it's attractiv and despizing bits... like all cities
i guess
