does english include the english-speaking world? if so --
hate to say it -- american literature is still in the midst
of an absolutely astonishing floruit.

I had to look up "floruit".

no, we're talking about the countries here, so I guess that
does not entail American literature.

i feel that english is missing a lot of things, so it might
not be the the best language for literature. the thing that
it's not that inflicted too makes it bad for literature too
imo.

but "simple" language doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad
thing. it's easy to learn and english has always been this
mongrel language which might be it's strenght.

i've been to wales and london this summer...

and as a vegetarian, i think i definitely prefer england for
food. it's crazy, in france you can search for hours and
hours without finding a restaurant with vegetarian meals
(even indian ones have very few), whereas in england you can
find some everywhere! and most of the time it was
deliicious. (even if the portions were often really (too?)
big, much larger than in france...)

no offence to the English, if Goran had paired you up
against Germany or something, it would've been a more even
battle

toute simplement, la langue si belle me confond...
