the tragic story of how i lost my cds

few weeks ago when i arrived to town akureyri on iceland's
biggest drunken/dopin/raping weekend of the year, the
verslunarmannhelgin. had 'em in a little bag, the cd case
was carrying about 60 or 70 cds. we left our baggage infront
of my friend's house while she went in to get keys to the
car. then we moved all the stuff into the car, but i think i
must've forgot the bag on the sidewalk. we stopped at a
couple of places trying to find something good to eat, then
got to the place i was staying at. when i opened the trunk
the bag wasn't there! went back to the house and all the
places we had gone to, but no sign of the bag with all my
greatest cds in it.

some drunken moron must've just taken it. the sad thing is
he probably hates all my cds because most people don't
listen to this kind of music. he's probably playing frisbee
with them right now, that fucker.

the case included my entire aphex collection, squarepusher,
boards of canada, portishead, dj shadow, all my drum&bass
cds etc.. all gone. *FUCKFUCKFUCK* indeed were my thoughts.
i couldn't believe this was happening.

but i have to accept it. i'm thinking of starting to collect
vinyl, but i don't have the money for a good
turntable...yet. i might do it. but there's alot of releases
i have to buy AGAIN, it will be even more expensive and it
will take time. maybe

on the positive side i still have the covers and right now
i'm downloading all of the albums from the net, so in a way
i still have them i guess. my love for music can't be lost
or taken away from me!

vinyl will be a nice change also. it would be more boring
for me if i buyed them all on cd again (getting the cd cases
that i already own). i want bigger packaging and waxin'
vinyl spinning in front of me magically. it will feel more
special i think.

Shit. That sucks. Whenever I'm out and I've got a CD case
with me, I'm so protective of it, I don't make mistakes.
Scenarios like yours, a horrible nightmare.

I get so mad at people for leaving their CDs in their cars.
Just trouble waiting to happen.

i'm also very protective of my cds, well atleast i thought
so. but somehow it happened. i'm not even sure how the hell
it happened. but i learned a valuable lesson, i should've
brought the CD-rs copies, not the actual cds.

that's what i said to everybody, that i was going to kill
myself. i even invited them to my funeral.

i think i even said it on this mb sometime ...and then now
it happened.

but i'm over it now i think.

Would be fucking hilarious if RIAA sued you for d/ling music
you don't have anymore.

Jesús kristur. Það liggur við að maður vilji frekar
láta nauðga sér um verslunarmannahelgi (ágætis líkur
á því hvort eð er) í staðinn fyrir að glata öllum
diskunum sínum. Ég hefði aldrei tekið þetta með
maður...

Very sorry to hear that news man.. it's heartbreaking I
know, especially for someone who has the respect and care
for good music and CD collection like yourself. Way to
carry on with life and not fret about it. hang in there!

I had my entire collection stolen when I was at university,
luckely I was insured. Check to see if you can claim on you
freinds car insurance if you don't have your own.

The thing is, with this weekend, everything that can be
stolen will be stolen.

in other stories:
we were cleaning out the cars, and my wives cd case, 15 or
so cds, were there one minute laying in the yard, and in the
morning they were gone........

Roca: population 220

seriously, i had 250+ cds, including an autographed kid a,
stolen last january. instead of going in mourning, i just
invested in an ipod ($500 cdn, or 25-30 cds) and spent
several long evenings on soulseek.
