anything by merzbow apperantly :)

perhaps start with satanstornade...

if you're up for something less extreme try out hecker - the
one on mego.

masonna is excellent...i don't think i've got any albums,
but i have quite a number of his tracks and i love most of
them!

i found a really cool video of masonna live - it's awesome.
he goes crazy and thrashes around, screaming through his
custom effects...

that's a good question - i don't really know. it was a very
obscure website that had a bunch of noise and avant-garde
live video clips. i have the best ones saved, but i have no
idea what the site is called...

by Merzbow, i recommend Dharma (a feeling of
void/white/death/zen gardens/null/etc. - i started by this
one and it's still one of my favs, one track features a
weird out-of-tune piano loop), or 1930 (good and not
excessively harsh compared to other Merzbow, on Tzadik
label). or Venereology (the most typical - first
track, Ananga-Ranga, is one of Merzbow's best in my
opinion). Tamago is also one of my favourites along
with Dharma, and it's pretty atypic for Merzbow (there are
almost rhythms and melodies from time to time, heavily
"damaged" but still there).

also:
Merzbox Sampler mp3s. free download!

thanksgiving and xmas albums - really great stuff.

i dont like noize artists whats the point of them?

offline plaster from splitska 10 on 2004-08-27 15:53 [#01316127]

well...i spoke to r40f last night about that.
if you look @ noise,it's pure art nothing more...same like
painting abstract images or dunno what.

i don't see noise to be somewhat creative, but it's damn
addictive to make it tho.

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2004-08-27 15:59 [#01316139]

the boredoms aren't a noise band - i just included that
because they are popular amongst people on the board.

Q: "i dont like noize artists whats the point of them?"
A: the point is that they make art. aphex twin makes art,
but we don't question the validity of it, do we? noise
music is a type of art just like any other, and there are
people who appreciate it deeply on many levels.
