db Poweramp is great. I use it to convert all the lossless
huge flac and shn files I download to 192 mp3 so they take
up tons less space.

On the Windows version you can convert WMA files into MP3
files, you can use the MP3-Coder with any setting you want,
you have a AIFF, WAV coder, even AAC coding and also the
Apple Lossless Encoder. Just insert a Audio-CD into your
drive and iTunes will convert the tracks into the format you
selected - and this software is for free !!!

dbPoweramp is indeed awesome. I've never had a bit of
trouble with it, it's intuitve, shell-based and it supports
every codec you can imagine.

I used to have a problem with an old version of dbPowerAmp,
maybe it has been fixed. The issue was noticed only when I
started using slsk, the bitrate showed was incorrect when
others users checked my files, for example a song of 5
minutes at 192kbps was showed like a 20 minutes song at
24kbps.

Then I started using CDex, wich is better because it
have TONS of options compared to dbPowerAmp. Really nice
software, I hope they continue developing future versions of
it.

support the open source :)
