a track for my friends only

offline _awt_ from Malmö (Sweden) on 2004-08-20 11:33 [#01310242]

hello my friends, i have made a track for all my friends.

this track is not a track like any of my other (drill)
tracks, this track is more straight forward and nicer, more
concentration on melody instead of beatprogramming (i cant
seem to master both at the same time)

the track is called untitled even though it should be called
my friends

check it out if you got nothing better to do

Good day

hah, you are allowed to hear it indeed!

glad you liked it.. im trying out some different styles when
not remixing lately.. it's nice to explore stuff but it's
allways hard becouse the lack of knowledge and experience of
the different electronic music styles

Well done.

More please....

futuristic Russia.

haha, cool! i never was a big fan of megaman.. so theres no
isperation from it there.

a couple of the final fantasy games has the music that has
inspired me allot since i started making music.

S'alright. A wee bit forgettable though, sorry.

offline _awt_ from Malmö (Sweden) on 2004-08-20 15:57 [#01310398]
Points: 2202 Status: Regular

yeah, forgettable! i really agree.. it's one of those tracks
wich you cant remember how the melody goes after listening
to it... really odd, even i notice this and im the maker..

i wonder why that is.. that it is forgettable, might be that
the melody simply isnt good enough.. but honestly i think
it's pretty good.

hmm, good point

offline Jarworski from The Grove (United Kingdom) on 2004-08-20 16:33 [#01310420]
Points: 10836 Status: Lurker

Yeah, it kinda reminds me of forgettable plaid, really. When
it's on it's ok but you just kinda drift off and then
realise there's music playing. Everything was in proportion
well enough, just find a better starting point next time.
But then, this one does it for you, you might write another
that you think is fair and I think is awesome. And twenty
different people have different viewpoints. It's the same
for signed artists, just on a wider scale. My music sounds
good to me, but I can understand someone not liking it. Fuck
this, I'll get some more tracks from yrs now.

:D

The long break in the middle of cold love gets a bit
too long for me, but when it does break loose it's
nicely done man. It segues a bit blatantly from Aphex to
Squarepusher but it's nice work. Might jus keep this one.

offline _awt_ from Malmö (Sweden) on 2004-08-20 16:48 [#01310426]
Points: 2202 Status: Regular | Followup to Jarworski: #01310422

thank you.

i appreciate you taking trouble to give me some good
critisism.

I agree with your opinions on my untitled track, it's a
matter of taste yes, but i also agree on the plaid part
allot.. i dont remember any of the melodys they have even
though i like them when im listening to them.

Im glad you liked cold love, the break is quite long yes,
but i recall someone from here saying that the long break
was the best part in the song hehe, so once again.. a matter
of taste.

good evening!

good tomorrow :D

no seriously i dont mind that tracks are forgettable, i
think it's more important that they are enjoyable while you
listen to them.

i love plaid but still can hardly think of any melody that
they have made that i can remeber at any time

Yeah, 6 is my all time favorite. Kinda tied with Crono
Trigger for all time fav RPG. I haven't really played 7, but
I have 9, and yet to beat it, I got stuck at some point, but
I really need to start from the beginning anyways to get a
grasp of the story better.

BTW: I kinda knew X2 would be shit judging from the
commercials. Overly perfect looking anime characters and
stupid j-pop playing the in the background. :P Its like the
marketed it towards young girls and japanese boys who never
leave the house.

6 is great yeeah and i also like chrono trigger, played
allot many years ago.

you should give ff7 a shot, it's amazing, my fav story of
the games also the game i played the most.. around 500hours
overall.. that was some time ago (gonna play it again some
time soon when i got the time)

9 is also great, a bit more to the old classic ff style, it
gets better the more you play it.. i didnt like it at first.
but it really grows on you

i might sell x2.. maybe finish it once first.. but yeah,
sell it and buy some beer for the money.

good evening
