Here's the squarepusher info:
HEADLINER PULLS PUT OF CARLING WEEKEND
SQUAREPUSHER has pulled out of this year’s CARLING WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS.
The cerebral drum and bass star was due to headline the Dance Stage at this month’s event, but now will not be appearing due to “recording commitments”.
Check back to NME.COM for any replacement information.

Man, SQP was one of my main reasons for going this year. After the fuck up of his show last year he should fucking play out of respect. Probably too busy pushing apples rather than squares anyway.
Fuck.

ha! i flew to sonar, Barcelona one year JUST to see SQR and he fucking pulled out too. I bumped into a warp guy (he was wearing a warp backstage pass) and asked him what the fuck! and he said "he was working on a tune in his hotel".
that a pretty good excuse actually but i didn't belive him...

whilst it's good to hear he's making some new tracks, i do think it takes the piss to pull out without a decent reason *after* the tickets have gone on sale. you'd think he'd know about 'recording committments' more than a week in advance...
fair enough, he might not give a crap about the usual reading regulars, but he should realise that a faithful few would have bought tickets just to see him. *psh*
(i don't know why i'm ranting - i decided not to do reading this year anyway :p).

well, i imagine if yr trying to schedule thigns, theres certain obstacles that you cant get around. perhaps he tried to reschedule recording time and couldnt, but didnt find out til last minute. i try to give artists the benefit of the doubt when it comes to these thigns... i mean, i doubt hed cancel a gig for no good reason. people like getting paid, ya know?

My other things to see if I'd gone to Reading was The Stills and Morrisey... I think Supergrass are there too but they would have clashed with Squarepusher. Oh and Roots Manuva.

typical that the only guy i was excited about seeing drops out, what a fucker.
does anyone know any proper dance/rave style stuff being played there, i imagine there isn't as its clearly not that sort of festival. im going for the booze, but i'll check out the acts horsefactory mentioned, a few strangers are on there.
