Watched it yesterday evening, and i just wanted to know
what other People think about the Remake in comparison to
the Original Version.

In my opinion its a great remake of this Romero Classic
Zombie movie, but some sequences could't mess with the
original film. For shure the whole film looks newer, more
Blood and Gore, Actionsequences, more about characters,
etc.....

But i think that in some ways the fear (as i felt looking
the original one) is missing....the original movie with
flash eating Zombies and slow walking hordes of them was
just more frightening than the remake.....but tell me what
do you think about it ?

ps. anybody knows if they used the old shopping mall from
the original movie ??

HUGE Romero/zombie genre film fanatic....

P.S. no, this was a mall out in LA

Behind the scenes, production designer Andrew Neskoromny
does a coldly effective job in dressing a
slated-for-demolition Toronto mall that has been ideally
framed by cinematographer Matthew Leonetti's grimly grainy
lenswork.

Since when could zombies run fast? It makes the whole zombie
fucking genre a joke. ZOMBIES ARE SLOW. THEY'RE DEAD. DEAD
SLOW!

i agree - zombies should be slow.

this new version was very stylized and "hollywood". i
prefer the original by far.

i really liked the new one, it scared the crap outta me.
then again i was really high and trippin balls when i
watched it in a big theater with dss etc. but hey, isnt that
what drugs are for?

i think it's dope.

but i haven't seen the original recently enough to compare
them.
but as a stand-alone action horror flick, it is damn good.

most of these zombies haven't been dead long, and since
there is no exploration of zombie biology in this film,
there is no good reason why they can't be fast. i think
fast moving zombies are more exciting. like when that fat
old woman zombie leaps out of bed and attcks, it was scarry
because that was like a dead linebacker attacking you. it
makes it harder to get away.

anyway, i thought fast moving zombies was a great change to
revitalize a "dead" genre.
yuk yuk yuk.

although they weren't zombies technically, this idea kind of
had already been done in "28 days later".

just make another mad max where there are zombies

hmmm... i am actually reluctant to see this, since i highly
enjoy the Romero original and can not believe that a
modern-day remake would do it justice. I just like the
original, so I'll pass on this one.

But I do need to see "28 Days Later."

It's all the rage to sort of speed up the movements of
zombies lately... we saw it in the Resident Evil Remake
(Crimson Head Zombies), the new Dawn of the Dead, and the
upcoming Resident Evil 4 (they're not really zombies, but
close enough).

Frankly, I find it horrifying... the only advantage we have
on the fuckers, gone.

Dawn of the New Dead is OK, but I didn't get the same fun
feeling I got while watching the first one. The Zombies
weren't even that scary in the first Dawn of the Dead... and
Romero knew it. It's a blast killing those things.

I agree, the zombies weren't that scary in the original
anyway.

the scary thing was much more how the whole of society was
collapsing (and the survivors not coping with it very well),
people you know/love suddenly turning on you.

"28 days later" takes the same themes and does a pretty good
job too.

if you want to enjoy it, i'd suggest that you watch it
totally openminded and not make any comparison's to the
original. just watch it knowing that it is a pretty good
action shooter type movie. and in the unedited version
coming out, there ARE zombie tits, if that's your thing.

yeh, so far all i've heard is that the extra zombie sluts
and such are on region 3 dvd. but i imagine it will make it
to other region codes eventually.. i can't see why it
wouldn't.

so you can probably count on getting to see sloppy zombie

28 Days Later really reminded me of The Last Man on Earth,
starring Vincent Price. Albeit way more fucking vicious....
in the Price movie, he sits around all night listening to
jazz records while a bunch of (fairly intelligent) zombies
try to break through his boarded windows... and then in the
day, he goes around the empty city finding their hiding
places and ramming stakes through their hearts.

The ending is pretty wild...

Yeah, it's a pretty neat, atmospheric movie. It's so '60s,
kind of campy... but good. The ''zombies'' are afraid of
their reflections, so Price's house is like a maze of
mirrors (and garlic). I had no idea what it was, I just saw
the title in Suprnova.org's horror section, and thought it
sounded cool so I grabbed it.
