[advice] getting a new curtain pole

I'm getting a new pole for the curtains in this room and I
have narrowed it down to these two:

1) Duke 45mm Thick Super-Strong Curtain Pole Natural Finish

2) Duke 45mm Thick Super-Strong Wooden Curtain Pole Long Spe...

...but I just can't decide which one to get.

Let's weigh up the pros and cons of each pole:

Pole 1
+ super-strong
+ available in 3 colours
+ cheaper than pole 2 at £55.99
+ ideal for hanging luxurious, rich, heavy curtains
+ the poles can be cut down
+ 45mm thick
- the colours are a bit shit
- the 'Natural Finish' is a hackneyed and bland style

Pole 2
+ authentic, stylish and classy
+ 45mm thick
+ extremely high quality
+ ideal for hanging luxurious, rich, heavy curtains
+ the 'Special Finish' truly is special
+ the Cream colour would go well with my curtains
- £79.99 - expensive!!
- flammable

What do you all think? I just can't decide between the
excellent value of the quite boring Natural Finish, or the
high quality authenticity of the Special Finish.

Friends, help me please.

well which is gonna be the main focal point, the curtains or
the curtain pole?

The curtains obviously, but I want the perfect pole to
complement them, you see.

well, the thing is - which will be the dominating focal
point?

if the curtains are so highly fantastic go with the shitty
one, because tyhe curtains will overshadow them

i'd go for the more expensive ones...that's always the best
choice.

i like the second ones, but it depends of the rest of the
room . they could look shit.

As I said, the curtains are the main focal point, and
believe you me - they are fantastic - but I want a glorious
pole to suit their excellence. Or perhaps you are right, I
should just let the curtains do the talking. I just can't
decide, man.

I hate those kind of knob-like things on the end.. these
look like my grandmother would pick them.

immense curtains require the most magnificent pole possible,
anything less would detract.

2nd ones. no contest.
the first ones look like the sort of boring tat you get in
travel lodge economy rooms. they'd only look decent if the
curtains were super-cool.
the extra 25quid is minor when you look at the difference
between poles: think of it as an investment :p

p.s. I don't care about no poles.

barbie synth thread) :p. i think you should play along with
*us* and buy the first one so we can abuse you for having
cheap taste.

Buy a desk instead and spend all day stroking it.
