Squarepusher more talented than VSnares but...

Sure Tom is a real musician and is a total fucking genius
and godlike on the bass and made Drill 'n bass what it is
today, but...

Whose not listening to Vsnares more than Squarepusher? I've
been playing all the last 5 Snares albums practically on
repeat and hardly ever throwing on venus no. 17 or
Ultravisitor. I mean its like when I first heard
Squarepusher I couldn't listen to drum 'n bass anymore, now
because of Snares I can't listen to Squarepusher as much
anymore. When I listen to sqpshr I'm just missing that like
totally m9ndfukcing element, that dirty funky brutal
hardcore drill, what can surpass him?

I've to post in this thread; cause you're totally right,
I've almost everything from sp but since I've discovered vs,
I'm almost don't listen to sp anymore cause of the same
reason; and I just don't understand why people don't admit
vs is great

And I like some juice with the meal

cant say much on this, as ive only heard come on my selector
and tetra-sync. and ive heard everything by snares.

question, is that squarepusher himself on the bass in
tetra?
that sounded totally amazing, and it was very talented, but
even still, i would rather listen to witboas or hccbu

"Whose not listening to Vsnares more than Squarepusher?I've

i like snares, a alittle.. and i like squarepusher allot, i
play various sp albums everyday, i listen to vs about once a
week.

theres simply somthing lacking in snares music, and probably
most people who have heard allot of both sp and vs knows
exactly what.

bullshit, Ultravisitor is 100x times better than anything
Snares has done ever. Its definately been playing more
around here too. I haven't listened to a full snares album
in months.

Its probably melody and progression, which snares has
absolutely none of.

but I don't bind memories to venetian snares tracks like I
do >[].

i've got no idea why people even compare snares to pusher or
afx...he's in totally different league. this is silly. there
are plenty of other better artists as vsnares around, but
they hardly ever get mentioned..ahh

my 2 cents:

Vsnares is to "Star Wars" what Squarepusher is to "2001: A
Space Odyssey".

They are both sci-fi and well crafted but one has a depth
and soul that you just couldn't ask the other one to have -
its not its nature to have it so why ask? Its fun, a
rollercoaster ride and enjoyed over and over but the other
is rich, and enjoyable for totally different reasons. Why
compare them?

my question, now that i think about it.

does anyone actually have real "memories" bound to a vsnares
song?

i sure as hell don't.

I do. I have memories bound to music I both love and hate.
It says nothing about the music.

I have many beautiful Venetian Snares memories:

1) Rolling into Toronto on the 401, 8 lanes of traffic, and
'Pressure Torture' playing.

2) Coming back from an exam with 'Make Ronnie Rocket'
playing on my MD player and pumping my fist in the sky.
Random passers-by thought I was insane.

3) Sitting with many of my friends and making them listen to
'Meta Abuse' and 'Unborn Baby' - laughing at the sheer
aggressiveness.

Snares warms my heart and I listen to him all the time. I
used to listen to Squarepusher but I just don't anymore. I
don't know why. In short, I am in total agreement with the
original post.

Thank you.

Deadman DJ acted as the perfect stress reliever once. I was
absolutely fucking livid, but by the time the track had
finished I could've wrote a musical about how great people
are.
