errr. the music sounds WANk! and the 'sound' is average at best. Am I missing something? Should I be saying 'well done at your first attempt' or 'there are some great guitar building tutorials at blah blah"

don't worry about it...

the thing is, i don't really care that much about building guitars or guitars in general - it was just about the fun of a personal project and having realized the completion of it, i got excited.
no reason to feel bad about saying that it's amateur-ish - i know it already. it's fine.
i should have mentioned there is sound on this webpage, and the sound isn't particularly pleasant. sorry about that everyone.

People are too negative.
I am glad you are happy with the results of your work. I couldn't listen to the sound, but regardless, the guitar is something you created and I am sure you are proud of it.
Good work.

I have tons of respect for people who make their own instruments. It looks nice. What kind of weird ass distortion were you running through in that sample?

thanks so much everyone for looking and the kind words!
aphextwin11 - now an amplifier from scratch blows my mind, i'd love to see pics if you've got 'em.
smyrma - that's the cool thing about this guitar - that was just a rat pedal, a very common distortion effect. but with this guitar it sounds much richer than normal. i'm getting lots of low end sounds out of it - probably the pickups. it was a nice surprise to me.

Nice. Two humbucker pickups shit all over the traditional fender ones. If it doesn't fall to bits within two weeks, it should sound pretty good.
