What is the story all about? |

it's a movie about competitive bicycle racing. |
||||||||

about an oppressive society in the future, living underground. everyone looks the same, has a boring job. the state keeps strict control of their citizens, perscribing all kinds of drugs to keep them numb and docile. procreation is forbidden, so is sex in general. the state wants people to buy more, be happy. one person, THX 1138, decides not to take his medication anymore and kind of wakes up, although he has no idea what he really wants. he falls in love with a woman, LUH, she stops taking her medication, they have sex. they get caught and THX is sentenced to prison. he tries to escape. that, in short, is what the film is about. it's very good. quite dark, very stylish. I just bought the soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin, which I finally found after looking for it for YEARS. |

it's coming out on dvd next month. I am one of the few people who have been anxiously waiting for it. although, as Bremzen has mentioned, sadly Lucas has been all over the original with his dirty little digital fingers again. :( |

Looks great. I love that beautiful black and white colour scheme he uses a lot. (that cunningham was inspired by in "All is full of love" for example) Good looking website yet irritating , took me a while to navigate to the actual trailer. |
