I've got a question for music makers who work with yamaha SU700 and/or Akai s950; does anybody know what the possibilities are when I use the SU700 as sequencer and I want to control the akai s950 thru midi as slave? (I'm planning on bying an akai s950, and I'm not sure if this combination will work)

I don't know for sure but if the SU700 is like other Yamaha sequencers (like the RS7000), it should be able to control the Akai in the manner you described. S950 is quite a vintage device as far as samplers go -- did you find an especially good deal on a S950 or is there another reason why you want this particular make of Akai as opposed to, say, a Z8?

tnx for yor reply, it's an especially good deal I can make, the RS7000 is a full featured sequencer, the su700 is not but it can control external devices
