i'd suggest you stop downloading everything like youre
doing, then get up and buy LP5. then listen
to it many times, in order to let all of its infinite
complexity sink in. the first listen is nothing compared to
the 10th, and the 10th is nothing compared to the 20th, and
so on.

i think listening to their whole catalogue from end to end
like youre doing cant let you appreciate thier music.
unless youre doing so just to try and figure out which album
you should go out and buy.

have a nice ride.

I worship Chiastic Slide...
you just don't understand it):

it's one of the greatest albums ever released by anyone...

cortex has a very good point.

you're downloading these albums, which is not a good idea
anyway (the compression changes ae's music considerably) and
whizzing through them.

you need to give these records time. put them on
while doing something else. listen and listen again.

give it time.

that was meant in a joking way..
but it *could* be true... I mean Chiastic Slide DOES kick
ass...

i don't know if i'll say it's their best... but it's
probablly my favourite Ae, and one of my favourite albums of
all time...

fold4,wrap5 - sounds like an broken dish machine, here the
melodies but hard to melt

Under boac - like it a little more different from autechres
other stuff

(funny that the guy in the track is talking something about
threads, and while i was just writng this message i
discovered that the guy talking in the background was from
Posting and you thread linky ) and it blended in
really good i thought it really was meant to be in the
track)

laughable

pimples

Drane2 - same as above sound really like an drane

hidden Track - hard to digest

lp5 best album yet Strong finish contains the best melodies
in my opinion

ae are way better than any other electronic act. they sound
like they have their own meaning of 'music'. they are pure
geniuses and it's a word almost never use.

get LP5 first. very typical, yet not too difficult to get
into. tri repetae is okay but it has been imitated. only
funkstorung could copy autechre after lp5 (and they did shit
tracks with beautiful sounds didn't they?). lp5 is a
classic, really.

ep7 is another classic but maybe a bit more difficult to get
into... 'pir' and 'dropp' are very emotional tracks,
'maphive 6.1' is... don't have a word for that. wonderful
trip. the rest is top quality.

the peel sessions are very impressive too. the second one
sounds close to ep7.

imo way more impressive than aphex who's talented no doubt
about it but a bit overrated maybe.

i wish i had a million ae releases yet to discover!

i jumped on the autechre train pretty recently as well, and
then proceeded to pick up lots of their albums in rapid
succession.

i had ps2 for ages, but it never really "clicked" with me
(still doesn't actually? - but i haven't given it a proper
listen :) )

then i got chiastic slide, this one turned me head over
heels about ae.

just bought lp5 yesterday! not sure which i like best out of
all their albums i have so far, they're all great =p

have:
-incunabula
-amber
-tri repetae
-chiastic slide
-lp5
-ps 2
-ep7
-confield

need to get:
-anti ep
-garbage
-anvil vapre
-cichlisuite
-we are r why
-envane
-ps1
-gantz graf
-draft 7.30

...at least to start with. phew! what fun listening
ahead....

ok better late the never

i dident like Ep7 that much the only track i really like
from it is Pir.i have heard that many people think its
similar to Lp5 which is my fav but i dident hear that
(except in Pir)

i didnt like confield at all and havent given it a second
chance yet maybe i will some day.

Draft 7.30 was much better but still alittle boring.it most
be there hardest album to digest.it made other stuff simpler
to digest :)

Untiled is great one of my favourite Autechre albums next to
Lp5

I'm having a little love affair with the straight-up 4/4
autechre remixes of mark broom, various artists and
nightmares on was at the moment. don't know why, but I do.

Yeah I love their remix of Angie is a shoplifter. Do you
know if the recent rerelease of that lp contains a different
version? Cause its title differs...

to be fair, most autechre songs are in 4/4, they just love
to change where the accent of the beat is. exceptions are
acroyear2, 777, drane, and a couple others im sure im
forgetting.
