If a friend tells you she's really down and sad and that her selfesteem is incredibly low (though she may use other words; but that's what she's expressing) what do you tell her? This is over the phone that is, if she calls you up. I mean one could always hugh the person if she was around, but in this case she isn't. So what do you do; what do you tell her to cheer her up? Is there anything that can be told? thanks in advance. |

well... she's back in her home town and I am far away from that place + it's night here and she just phoned me. |

what I mean is... she's far away and it's night. So we can't meet now... I had to deal with it over the phone. I am not the reason she's down - that'd make the whole mess a lot easier. It's about other people and quite a lot about her low self esteem. |

The tell her to meet you tomorrow or as soon as possible (if she is a good friend). Other than that, just listen to her and don't offer an opinion on anything. |

ok, she might be in town (where I live) tomorrow, so if she is, I'll be sure to meet her. thanks for the advices, people. I guess nothing beats meeting physically. |
